Have you considered adding some gentomycin (antibiotic) to your agar mix? It's expensive but a little goes a long way.

Unfortunately I think you can only use elbow grease and a sharp scraper/chisel. You might be able to clean the rest up with a die grinder with a sanding pad attachment. Sympathies for your misfortune and best of luck!Quote:

Come to think of it, you could probably even stick the attachment in a drill.

P.S. Wear a dust mask and do the deed outside or with the assistance of a vacuum cleaner.
P.S.S. Also make sure not to compromise the structural integrity of your pressure vessel by taking off too much of the metalic material. Aim for the plastic only.

Thank you, sir, right now most of it has been scraped out with a razor blade, then a metal scouring pad, and got rid of most of the sticky stuff (I think it's the stuff that keeps the plastic soft) with ISO. Doesn't dissolve well though. I think it's gonna get a gasoline wipe tomorrow for the last specks. After that, it's back to running dry -_-'
The sticky stuff doesn't feel like something I would want to handle with a bristle attachment for a drill... It's the kind of stuff that needs dissolving or it will just keep smearing out...

Fair enough! When you said super glue, I envisioned glue that had "set". Let us know how the gasoline works. Wish I had thought of that actually...

There was a set part that was indeed like set superglue, the other part was all over the walls and bottom and out the valve on top o t lid.
My GF was in the living room, next to the kitchen, I was outside when it happened. So I come in, turn off the heat, smoke was leaving the PC, kitchen smelled like a plastic factory, so I turn to her and ask "Does this smell right to you?" And she replies "Well, I checked the kitchen cabinets but I didn't see anything wrong"
Went on to say that anything leaving the PC that's not steam and doesn't smell either grainy or not at all, is a bad sign and she needs to either come get me or turn off the heat... Can we do a "Bachelor: Shroomery edition" where all women have good myco skills? (In case you read this honey, I'm kidding, I love you very much, and your skills are worth more to me) (please don't leave me)

Let's talk about how the hell your PC ran dry after just an hour. You HAD to have done something wrong, since I can go 2 hrs easily with plenty of water left over.

My guess is he never turned the stove down after the weight started rocking so it was just hissing like crazy the whole hour

This time, that is somewhat correct
Normally it runs dry after about 2 hours, but this time (I think because of too full) it didn't really keep rocking. After it rocked the first time, I turned it down to the standard keep-it-going level, and normally I would hear it hiss every 2 minutes or so, but after 10 mins it still didn't hiss, so I turned it back up.
The running dry after 2 hours shouldn't happen either, still does every time, even with the heat lowering. It's an old lady, one you can't find online because it was from way before the internet, I think. Also, when it's not rocking, it still loses some steam constantly. It's actually always hissing, it's just hissing all crazy-like when it gets to pressure...

Last one is just the writing on the bottom. Seal removed for cleaning now. The trivet used to be something to put pots n pans on, and the legs of the thing were removed today, so it used to be a higher trivet. Not that that 1 cm will make too much of a difference on anything...

True, but for that one hour run I had basically a filled 1-1,5cm of water at the bottom, and then 3 PP containers measuring about 7-8cm diameter, and water up 5cm along the container sides... That should be more than enough for 2 hours, no?

Hey Bod, I already read it over quickly a couple of weeks back I think, took another look now, and 2 things stand out for me. The 10 mins, I've forgotten to check that time and just went with it a few times in the past. Didn't always go that well. Really something I should get better at, I know it's important. The second thing was this: " I put 3 quarters (15-18 grams) of weight on top of my jiggle weight. " That's great, but will that help me keep more water in?
Could it maybe just be that my PC just doesn't last for longer than 2 hours, because it holds a lot less water or something? To give you an idea, the amount of water that I put in earlier was, I think, 2,4 litres. 1 hour, and it's all gone...
