I confess, I'm failing a lot lately and getting discouraged. It's been a fucking journey, but the last 6 months have been hellish on my mycology work and I'm ready to just stop it all for a while (but can't really at this point for ... reasons). I've been ramping up a lot of things I've been working on and trying mostly new things, so I guess I should expect a learning curve to kick back in ... but it's hard ya'll.

This time last year I had just started getting solid results with growing on the regular, I thought it was smooth sailing from there. Now I'm tossing out 20# of overcooked grain, had all my gourmets go bacterial, every exotic I grow contaminates, had my ballasts in my lab crashing into my head and work, and all kinds of other things. :uhoh:

You got it bro! Sometimes it's just how it goes, exotics have been kicking my ass as well, the heat just makes the bacteria colonies explode and take over before the spores can even germinate it seems like

Feeling for you Shaper.  Maybe it's time to stop experiments and anything new, just go back to basics and what made you fall in love with this to begin with.  Then continue from there if you want.  It can get overwhelming.  A break could be good too maybe.

I tried not growing this summer and fucking hated it.  Back to what I love, and back to basics for me as well.  Just appreciating watching mycelium expand on a petri dish is blissful to me again since I cut out the other shit and stopped trying to do so much.

Part of the problem is that I over-committed myself on some things and needed to expand quickly. I just "went back" so that I could get some results, but it just takes so much longer to do that I've effectively killed all my free time for the last week. I wish I could just step away for a bit without any repercussions, but I'm po' and broke, and a girl's gotta eat. Because of the work I'm putting in lately I literally bought myself groceries for the first time in 3 months last weekend (It's been a lot of pasta/ramen up till then, anything besides necessities was ignored). It's just a fucked up situation I'm in right now. It's this or start Uber/Lyft driving, which I'm pretty sure I'd complain about more.

I confess, I wish I was half as interested in working on cars, as I am with mycology..... But I dread turning wrenches on vehicles... Would rather pay to have someone fix it,than to deal with that frustration... Even if it means goin in the hole to have it fixed

Don't get to down on yourself Shaper, rye you don't normally prep, in bags you you recently started to use. Your gourmets didn't go from great to blah either did they? So no backsliding there, just still climbing!
exotics are..well exotic lol and you've managed to get clean plates, and again you are climbing here, not falling backwards.
Idk what voodoo caused the lights falling...that was shitty, but what are the odds it happens again huh? ( you gorilla glued them suckers back up right? )

You're recognized around here, have a shoebox tek that ppl are using and talking about, contributing with your results for better or worse..I'd say your doing great
easy to get bogged down in what feels like wasted time and effort, but you're no scrub!!

I can manage little shit and I have mechanics and motorhead friends to help with anything I need. They may not necessarily have time to get things done fast, but it all helps.

One dude is custom building a street-rod from scratch except the body which is from the 40s or so, got wood framing inside of it. Ever seen a hand made frame? He's built one.

Wikipedia MDMA. If you want a really good substance database go to Erowid. From there you can find some real treasure.

I confess that today while harvesting some tubs I took a break to take a fat dab of some DMT mixed in with my crumble, launched myself into another dimension, and forgot to go finish my harvest when I came back to reality leaving piles of mush sitting out till just now...

God DAMN that was intense!

I confess growing the mold blues does suck.

Seems like everytime I take a break then start back up I always fumble something up. But it's like anything else. The more you do it the better you get and you find the way that is most effective and efficient for you. Grain prep is important. it's good to have a method that creates consistency in your outcomes.

Anyways chin up to all us mold growers out there.
Better times are around the corner

I confess DMT is way easier to produce than mushrooms... If you can get to the point of having clean spawn, you can definitely whip up a batch of DMT in a jiffy. Made some yesterday for the first time. I don't know why I waited so long. It was the easiest project I've undertaken in recent history but the "chemistry" aspect intimidated me a little bit, but it was easier than making cookies...

If you can keep your mush cult sterile, you got this NP.

FYI the man doesn't look at DMT with the same laissez-faire attitude it does for mush. Keep it tight. Keep it small. Keep it personal. Tripping is fun, prison isn't.

I confess I acquired and lost 20kg powdered bark, 5L and 3L separatory funnels, a chest freezer, 2 digital magnetic stirrer/hotplates, various glassware, and 2 custom jar rockers. I knew some people who used to crank out kilos before bark was removed from eBay. Now I just have jars and and a couple beakers. Chaffes me that the vendor ai dealt with most recent charged extra for powdered bark, but only sends it shredded.

I reccomend a straight to base extraction using powdered bark and warm naptha. Use gloves and a respirator.

I have had good results with straghtto base. Last time I used warm naptha but got lots of plant fats with it. Haven't tried defatting before hand; never needed to with room temp. Any experience with this?

Also, I confess I had no idea it was off eBay now. It has been a while since I ordered. That sucks. Have about .75kg left. Need to find a new source now.

[Larger]This post has the video I use for DMT extraction below, as well as the dosing method I came up with to accurately dose "1 hit breakthroughs" every time. Enjoy.

I just followed this guys video. Just watched it in segments as I worked. Just like following a new recipe. Super easy.

I know they aren't a sponsor, but to be on the safe side of rules and guidelines I will tell you that I go through : waking"shmerbs".com

They ship internationally, are reasonably priced from what I found available online, and I didn't order the pricy tracking and it STILL came. Legit. As a matter of fact, they fucked up and sent me double what I paid for in two separate shipments. I will be ordering again. And if you want it, they got bulk...

EDIT: Fielded a couple PMs with questions, so I am updating this with how I achieve accurate breakthrough doses in one hit.

Funky's Solo 1-Hit Breakthrough Dose Tek:

Okay, so after much experimentation, after trying to build all kinds of clever little tools, and administering doses in various ways I came up with this super easy no-fuss way to get 1-Hit Breakthrough Doses with no help from anyone else.

Dab rig + Tin Foil = all you need for solo breakthroughs. Weigh it on a strip of tinfoil that will allow you to fold and roll it up into a size that allows you to drop your prepared dose into the nail/banger once you have let the nail cool down enough (low temp dabs for DMT). Once you drop the foil-wrapped hit in, it will take a second for the tinfoil to get the dmt to temp which lets you put whatever you use for a cap on your nail and you are ready for your one-hit breakthrough. No more waste. Incredibly efficient spot on doses every single time.
