People that choose inauthentic living are eventually shown that by mushrooms ime, they give you a fun ride the first few times but then start to scare the hell out of you if you don't choose to change. That's why so many folks in the party scene take lsd, it lacks consciousness and doesn't demand growth. All psychedelic plant medicines lead to growth, people that choose not to grow will just get terrified eventually. My experience anyways. Their fear is justified. The only way they'd jive with mushrooms is microdosing. Not true for everyone of course but it seems to be the majority from what I can tell

Too much mushrooms though?  Suicidal thoughts, world is fucked, I should cry in a hole somewhere.

I am experienced enough to ride it out but no matter what, its hard to shake... Then I come down and feel happier for a few months, weird how that works.

Your talking truth right now. Ate 2 tabs today at 2pm and here I am staring at this screen waiting for it to stop. Had a blast but was done a few hours ago. And for me there is no afterglow with L it's mostly just hard on me.

They were isolated shit genetics then dude:  it happens... start over and move on... conditions do not effect potency... PERIOD... I confess, it's a dead horse man

Thinking a 2 day excursion involving mushrooms,  LSD, harmalas, and possibly some deemsters is in order for the near future: who's coming with me?!?

I get it dead horse as its been discussed a retarded amount of times here man but they were isolates and the potency changed when I changed conditions, disregarding experience for an idea is dogma. Are you suggesting the isolates became shit genetics with age? I have never read that, just that age can affect yield and contamintation resistance.. I'd like to let go of this but all I ever hear is theoretical arguments surrounding it.

I confess eating pineapple pizza while tripping is gross. I mean it's gross sober as well but tripping is disgusting. Fresh tree ripened peaches tho .. :notreadyforthis: sent chills up my spine

And then you hear the most reputable folks disregard experiential evidence when it suggests potency can be effected by conditions but then spew experiential evidence when they say "chron pressure cooked dried cubensis and ate them and they were the same potency". wtf. I sense a lot of dogma in the community. No disrespect or am I meaning to beat a dead horse but have you compared isolates grown on different subs and/or dried at different temps? Or maybe you can point me to a thread where folks have

I'm done with it dude... carry on with shit(both poo and genes) if you'd like, just tryna help... your "isolate" was likely not quite... if anything changed, it wasn't  you may have, in your self proclaimed "many transfers", isolated more and more shitty genes... what does cron PC'ing dried fruit got to do with anything?  Actives are heat stable to 400° ... not somethingthe inside of a wet pressure cooker sees, so wouldn't have an effect on potency... but that's so far off base from this discussion about potency and it's relation to substrate constituency... there is none, but carry on and do you booboo

Genetics are genetics, experiential evidence to back this sentiment all around you man...

I confess, I thought this was a confession thread... seems more a repeatedly drive it in to the wall thread

Fruits dehydrated with heat seem to keep better longer, while unheated they lose potency over time... this is believed to be due to the heat destroying enzymes in the mushrooms that breakdown psilocybin and psilocin over time

No need for frustration or stabs man. I am trying to gain understanding. I have switched to all coir, not carrying on with anything. Thanks for the consideration that I may have further isolated something that was still multi. Anything that comes up naturally in any thread is useful for learning as far as I'm concerned. I'll create a comparison thread with isolates someday that's easily searchable (I haven't found a decent one in almost 3 years of reading this site like a mycology fiending crackhead, just a lot of yelling at each other basically, feels too familiar) and curious noobs can find and be steered in practical direction

I'm trying to steer you in a practical direction: you're not having it... no stabs or frustration, just not one to continue talking to a wall who's already read the book... ya know?  Can't teach you if you already know,  no worries... look forward to a comparison thread for sure... isolates are different than clones ya know?  A clone will still contain multiple strains  (likely HUNDREDS of sets of genetics)

I appreciate that Caps. I feel that I'm not a wall as I've finally changed my methods to pursue what works better, I was just inquiring to further my understanding of why. Also understand that I've read 2 TC's claim that conditions effected potency, Mycolorado "if nutrients can effect the flavor of edibles then its reasonable to suspect that nutrients can effect actives" and Hamloaf (no need for quotes because you've read him claim it countless times).

Besides how is this sidelining a thread, these are the essence of confessions of an amateur mycologist. I've been allowing dogma to keep me growing on contam prone subs for years! Fuck :facepalm3:

Here's another confession and I'd love some feedback on it as it was just pointed out to me in another thread today. I think I've been spawning jars before FULL colonization! I let them get covered in wispy myc and never let them consolidate and get dense white. Is spawning something that looks like this a noob mistake? I thought allowing to sit beyond this point may lead to bacterial problems.

If you can get ahold of it, Benzodiazapine (like Xanax) will shut an LSD trip down hard.

They were isolates as I mentioned in my post. I received them as such and transferred them a shitload of times with no discernible difference in the obvious monoculture or isolate it had been since I received it. So no, not bad genetics. They were potent AF and changed, can't see what else caused it except the changes I made and many people attested to it.

I confess this cracks me up and frustrates, as well. People need to learn to show some restraint in the threads... Caps, seriously,!? Its retarded to call out the other person your having an OTD conversation with!

I confess,I've let my myco work go for WAY too long, and now everything is ready for the next step, and I'm feeling overwhelmed by it.:uhoh:
Yesterday I purposely avoided opening the cabinet,so I wouldn't see all my jars that are ready to spawn.

I'm off all week,so I have plenty of time to work, but I don't know where to start.
I need to just put one foot in front of the other, and get this shit done,but...:blazed:
I need to get back to motivated.
A microdose would probably do me good.:shrug2:

Potency and perceived effect are so incredibly hard to measure, and there's so many factors to consider including, tolerance (how often people are tripping), trip conditions (time of day, location, etc), personal health, state of mind, etc, etc. Unless you have the lab equipment to measure psyclobin it's a nearly impossible argument to settle.

I confess this was me yesterday. Finally sat down at my SAB and knocked out all my transfers, put some agar on grain, made a 7 quarts of oats, harvested, soaked cakes, and now I just have to figure out what to do with these 3 half pint brf cakes that I don't have room for :\

For some reason, I find making a list helps organize my mind when I'm feeling overwhelmed.  Feelin' for ya Nate!

I confess I wanted to see how my plates would grow outside in the natural sunlight.  I had them out there for two days, (brought in at night) 6 of my 7 RW plates that were going to be going to jars.  It stormed yesterday and flooded the shoebox they were in.  I forgot about them.  Ruined.  Damn it!  Luckily the 7th plate inside I could transfer to more plates today, made a couple LC's too.  I need to set myself reminders for everything. :facepalm3:
