I confess,
If growing mushrooms and agar work have taught me one thing, it's patience.
Or at least the resignation that shit takes a long time, and I better get used to it.

Lol. I would have thrown my mushroom basket at him and run the other way. That's gonna make a good decoration/story.

Drill and stuff with poly? Pull with a needle nose. Anything else and I agree with you. But yeah bags seem like the way to go anyways.

Really should leave the snakes alone. Why the fuck would you kill it? Timber rattlers are very docile amd timid.
Respect living things. Hate to hear shit like that. My life revolves around wildlife and nature, troubles me deeply that people still think they gotta kill everything.
Killing that snake will come back on you...next trip

No it won't.... Lmao!!
We're two different people, and I work primarily in the woods...not leaving a rattlesnake to possibly bite one of the cows...
And I would have killed it if it was around my house too... There are tons of rattlesnakes where I am, one or two isn't hurting the population

I don't like killing shit, I really do not... But there are so many of them around, we got 2-3 different species of rattlesnake here..and I worry about my kid and animals getting bit, If I hadn't been paying attention to where I was walking I would have been bit... I was within striking distance from it when I noticed it, and it did not give a warning or make any sound... Scared the fuck out of me for real

All u gotta do is at then end ask yourself. Self. Could I had handled that situation better. The answer will come eventually

I just polished off a nice fat omelette stuffed with sautéed king oysters that I grew... yum! Food is somehow just a bit more satisfying when you grow it or harvest it yourself.

Yeah man!

I sautéed some Neolentinus lepideus and made a nice bechamel sauce with pasta last night.
Found them growing in the trees in my backyard. Was satisfying for me to KNOW a wild mushroom and EAT it. I feel your feels

Seriously, mushrooms are the fastest things I grow. Try growing succulents and see how that goes. 3-5 years minimum for getting an active cactus from seed to being able to harvest for a trip... if you're good! Moving over to mushrooms from succulents was like watching everything move in fast-forward.
But yeah, it's slower than most people are used to, and sometimes it's still slower than I realize. Hell, I'm avoiding shiitake because they seem too slow for me

Right... If there is one visible, there are 25 more somewhere... I've been super cautious out here this morning... I even checked the area for rattlers before I started working... Fuck that suprise, don't want to have that fear again.. Worst off I don't carry my pistol, so my weapon of circumstance was a stick...like I said, FUCK THAT!

Oh so true! Trying my hand at cacti as we speak.
I confess,
The thing that gets me, time wise, is waiting to see if I made a mistake. Then having to start over and wait again.
*also, a rattlesnake headband, with vertebral adornment is... I'm not sure what it is. Bad ass I guess.
