I confess, I've started to develop an Agar problem...

I only throw out plates that are really really bad. I have around 60-80 plates I'm monitoring in some way right now... I got a box of 500 petris thinking that shit would last me FOREVER... but I'm realizing that since I have them I just keep going through them. Agar work is so much easier to prep/set-up than anything else so if I feel like I need to do mycology work I'm like "well... I could pour and transfer some agar I guess!"

I think that's like a weekly confession here! Lol. Yes my name is BigSurMoon and I'm addicted to agar. Funny shit, I was the same way with the disposables. Now I'm back to no-pours, glass petris, and my new favorite... Brf pucks.
I confess, I wish I could reboot my brain and start from the beginning, I still get a nostalgic feeling when I spray the purple Lysol.... The research and planning, and then, holy shit this and these people are for real! Thanks to all.

I confess, I just tossed 32 perfectly healthy qt rye master jars from  the fridge. Need space for new varieties. Too many masters, and no desire or have room for  " suicide " tubs ( different masters into tubs).

I'm pretty good rn. Been very bad healthwise around a year back but made a good come-back thanks to diet and lots of supplements n stuff. Still on the road to recovery I guess and still running into health issues on the regular, and I don't exactly do better every day, but I do better every month or couple of months so I'm still counting it as winning.

Working night shifts during weekdays (only 5-6 hrs per night though) and morning shift (8hr) on Saturdays lately. Different companies, different jobs, both logistics, both fun. Thinking about having another kid but have to be healthier first.

How r you?

My myco related confession is that I’ve lost interest in my studies because of a shite advisor and I’m considering doing a post doc in a mycology lab to learn how to  applying my CRISPR and genomic editing techniques to fungi... long term goal of starting a research company investigating the use of genetic modifications to improve human and environmental well being through myco cultivation.

I got some (half) hair brained ideas, just need the funding, manpower and years to look into them.

I confess,

I've lost my spore print game. I can get prints, but when it comes to folding the tinfoil etc. It looks like I made them drunk, in the dark with wolves chasing me.

Is it still raining down there?  Shit.  I have a friend here right now from Miami ok and he said it’s been super wet, only one way into the town right now, other ways are flooded.  Seems like it’s always either too wet or too dry down there, no happy medium.

:waitwhat:

WOAH

I don't know that I wholeheartedly agree with genetic mod... no way of knowing the full spectrum of consequence... I guess arguably, evolution is based on "random mutation from solar radiation coupled with natural selection ", but I feel things like that might work too well and backfire

I'm a naturalist hippy though so...
:kittylaugh:
IT'S A CONSPIRACY MAN!

I confess, was a late night sterilizing sawdust blocks and G2G one, 1 gallon bag of  (CLEAN) blue oyster spawn to 4-1 gallon bags for a high ratio... not pushing my luck too much lol... I'm pooped, but I'm doing this,  and I'm in hog heaven  (right now:  bipolar has it's upsides(and it's downs (upsides downs)which aren't as bad if I try to keep well rested))
