Thats terrible Caps. My buddy Bruno (amstaff) got hit by a car and died about 6 months or so ago.
He was Bruno #3 because I just roll that way.
It was a terrible terrible experience and dont care talking about it much as I'm sure you kinda feel the same.
It's nice to talk a little ya know here and there but it seems to actually just piss me off and depresses me when my family starts talking about him much.
I cant wait to fill the void of a missing Bruno from my life. I fucking love dogs!

My love for dogs is exactly why I can't have another one, it crushed me when I had to put my 2 boys down a few months apart recently (6&4 months back), it was like losing my child and I know how that feels too.

Saying good bye to a furry family member is hard even when they have had a long peaceful life and they go quietly. Having them pass in a traumatic way like that is the worst!
Sorry Caps (you too NothingsChanged - I know this is stirring you up about Cecile)

Shit, my condolences. My fiance had to put down her childhood dog recently.
We don't want to get another, because atm it just feels like getting a lease on happiness that you will pay with pain and a broken heart someday...

I confess, low humidity and zero rain is stressing me the fuck out, not to mention the mid 90 degree temperatures. I wish it would rain here, we didn't get the April showers so no may flowers (shrooms) or very little.

Start looking with the next rain, you may be surprised, I thought Jun was the start here until I started finding them at the beginning of April.

I confess, I've had my first major mycological disaster.

I haven't been overly concerned with the storage of my prints until now. Been keeping them in what I thought were 2 sturdy boxes in a generally untouched area of my fridge. At some point a few days ago, my fridge sprung a leak without my knowledge. By the time I realized there was an issue, water had already been running off of both boxes and into my vegetable drawer.

I had separated my library into prints that I've made and prints I've received, and miraculously the 'received' box appeared to be extremely water resistant and simply redirected the moisture. Sadly, the lid of the other box had caved in, and every print I had ever made was submerged in water.

Granted, I am extremely grateful that I didn't lose any prints that were given to me. Because of the generosity of this community, I am not forced to start again from scratch. Thank you all very much.

At the same time, this particular loss HURT.
I was proud of my accomplishments to date, and the prints I had saved were from particularly personal projects. I had just recently taken a look at the oldest of my prints, and even though I was not overly knowledgeable at the time and it was years ago, the spores were still alive and well! Almost felt like accidentally killing a lush garden I'd put a lot of time into.

I definitely learned from this mistake. Insulated, waterproof containers for all of my prints, and I'm getting a dedicated fridge as soon as possible. I've been lucky to take part in this hobby without some of the larger issues other people have, but I will certainly be less complaisant after this unfortunate occurrence.

Quick, SPAWN THEM ALL!

No need to refrigerate... cool,dry,dark... like a drawer! Mine are in plastic bags in a desk drawer... stay good for years from my understanding... I can speak for 1 year anyways lol

Tough luck/y break... sorry for your loss

I  confess, I'm OCD, and manic/depressive... when I'm manic, my OCD really kicks in... I catch myself in redundant loops, and often times feel as though I'm tripping when I'm not... I know a low few can imagine, and a natural high few experience on drugs! It's both my greatest blessing, and my biggest burden... I'm not even sure what point I'm trying to make: and I'm quite sure it's not exactly directly mycological in nature... but; I AM an amateur mycologist, and this IS my confession:

I get stuck replying to posts in my threads list: and I know it's bound to aggravate some of you... I really am just batshit crazy, and completely obsessed...  Anyways, for what it's worth, I apologize, I get annoyed with me at times as well
