I have a bottle brush that mounts into my drill and i still hate it. It's not really that hard.... I just don't enjoy it.
Theyβre a brand new product Iβm still working my way through an order of factory seconds(cheap AF but you gotta but a shit-ton) from unicorn or Iβd be using them already.

I confess: I snapped the drill bit off in my brush after the first couple hundred jars and now its just spray and pray lol .

I made the LC by droping a whole clean pasty plate into a jar of water and oat flour that was PC'd with a batch of grain. I used a grain jar and only filled it a quarter of the way. and never shook it just swirled gently so the poly stayed dry. I figure I didn't mix it well enough before inoculation cause I didnt use it all so perhaps the Myc was at the bottom in the sediments. Or maybe I overcooked it? Hell who knows there is probably something else im missing too. Thems the breaks when you don't follow teks. 8qts of grain for the squirels I rekon.

Dude, I'm right with you. I'm going to start doing everything in bags. I'm going to mix my sub and grain in bags, sterilize it, noc it up with LC. When it's colonized, I'm just gonna cut off the top and fruit right from there.

I confess mushrooms are just one of the many things I love growing.

Since I live in a cold climate most of my projects are indoors under lights...

My wheat jars I hit woth lc all are colonizing fine I'm wondering if the hull of the barley/oats smothers the myc ? Idk but some jars of barley have no growth and some do and even the ones that do are not great
I loooove wheat! I'm surprised everyone doesn't use it. It is soo easy to hydrate too! I pour boiling water on it, let sit for 30 min, dry, then PC

I confess that, years ago, I had to move back in with my parents for a few months. I didn't have any mycology projects going but did have some supplies stashed away and hidden fairly well... or so i thought...
My mother bursts through the door and is angrier then I've ever seen her, "I found syringes in your stuff, are you shooting up?!?!"
I was trying to stifle my uncontrollable laughter while trying to explain that I was not shooting up and while i was trying to sidestep around the question as to why i had them.
Ah good memories, she didn't check for track marks on my arms or anything, as we have a trusting relationship. However she did demand that I get the syringes out of the house.

I get it at 49c in bulk bins at WinCo. If you don't have one in the area check anywhere with bulk bins.

Local feed store since I live in cattle country, a 50lb bag of wheat cost me $13-15 and a 50lb bag of white millet is like $11-13.. Usually grab a bag of each for right around $25

I confess, I've JUST told my boss that I'm going to need to start taking Tuesday's and Thursday's off to keep up with orders for colonized grain spawn and sawdust blocks, and that I understood if he had to let me go... he said he needed me this week, and would figure out what to do beyond that... I feel guilty, and he looked deflated (I'm his bread and butter) but it's such a weight off my shoulders! Now I can devote more of my time to my obsession/passion/purpose... if the gourmets take off, I'll have to tell him I'm done; but he said he couldn't fault a man for bettering himself, and I'm sure he sees it coming...The hard part of the transition is over! HOLY SHIT I FEEL GREAT!

Also,
Had my first APE tea this weekend... WOW! I said to myself "this is far superior to anything I'VE grown... wait, I DID grow it!" Lol... I did 4g, and an hour in, ate a chocolate peanut butter square with an 1/8 of RW in it... it was warm enough to sit outside comfortably, and I really enjoyed myself... APE felt ... cleaner? Lol, more informational perhaps... not as visual as I'd've thought, but once the RW started taking hold: WOOF! Great combination!
You Can do it JJ!
