I understand just didnt think i would wait 2 months with nothing to show for it. I just used Munchauzen's PDA recipe but dropped the agar to 1.5 grams instead of 2, but with 3 grams of potato flakes. You think that's nutritious enough? Also i think spore syringes are just shit for agar. So I sterilized some q-tips and dropped the liquid on the q-tips and rubbed it instead of just dropping the spore solution on there.

I've gotten good germination with that recipe (unmodified). Do you have an inoculation loop? That may work better. Have not tried swabbing from syringes before, personally.

Yeah MS syringes suck IMO. Prints are much easier/simpler for me.

Actually just got a inoculation loop in the mail today, and I wish I would have gotten a print instead, but being in one of the states that dont allow spores im lucky I got anything at all they just are not serving the right purpose at the moment.

Shake up the syringe really good then only put one single drop 2 to 3 times around the plate...

I did exactly that multiple times and waited 2 months with no germination at all. I believe my agar was too hard and also i had pre-mixed MEA so I made my own softer PDA. Seeing if i get any luck with those.

Good luck! Glad to see you here

Mycology has taught me great patience, a lesson you are learning as well

I confess,

I have multiple time zone clocks added to my phone, so I can keep track of my myco friends around the world.

Patience is one of the most important things when growing mushrooms. I been trying to get this b+ culture for months and months now. It’s frustrating but mycology is fun.

I confess, two months is too long. I'd say your spores are old. patience is key but two months?

i confess, Leaving dirty tubs in the sun with the "i'll clean it tomorrow" is my worst myco habit. UV breaks those things down like a mofo. And, as credence said, "someday never comes"

They are a little bit old. About half a year, but i thought syringes kept in a cool dark place (which they were) could last years?

That's not that old. They should. How are you storing your plates after inoculation? I bet you will have better success with your own agar mix. I don't trust anyone else to do that kind of thing right for me in this hobby

They sit at about 68-75 depending on the day with plenty of ambient light other than that not much to say. Ya I think making my own is going to help I've heard people having problems with the pre-mixed stuff after I started using it.

I confess,  each additional day I spend away from my cultures, assures me further that I need to be with them at all times... is that crazy?  Also,  I'm more obsessed with the gourmets than I have been with actives... is that weird?

Also, my new avatar fucking ROCKS! Pulled it this afternoon from an F9 RW clone (bubba)... gf says it's my spirit mushy bc it has a joint in it's mouth  (I smoke A LOT)... and it's a mushroom head!
