That would make sense, atleast its not that pink slime stuff anymore! The way we farm is terrible have you seen the chicken houses where they are all caged up? Thats fucked up, but I gotta say nothing beats a nice slab of beef or deer or duck in my book

Iv worked on industrial pork and chicken farms before, fucked up is the nice way of saying it. I like meat but I get all my chicken and beef/pork from family members who raise them.

I confess that when I make transfers not racing against the “blackout clock” (aka a pint of whisky) but instead only rip the bong before hand, I turn into Mr. Shaky Jeans McFly and throw wedges all over the SAB, knock shit over, just an overall mess ... seems bassackwards to me to but oh well, that’s the price to pay for trying to get sober
Hopefully soon the medicine will fruit once again!

I CONFESS! Part of the reason I became vegitarian was to also spur myself to grow more gourmet/edible mushrooms as a source of new proteins and flavors. I hear there are mushrooms that taste like all kinds of meats
Quote:

As Yesum and other's have said, but also animals are responsible for 18% of greenhouse gas emissions in America, and we eat way more meat than any health organization recommends. So... I guess I'm sacrificing things for myself since everyone else ruined these nice things.
Also, I morally am against the treatment of animals in most ways that farms run them now.

Good luck! I'm pretty newly in!

Well, I'm technically allergic to beef protiens so, I haven't had beef anything in about 8 years
Alligator is fucking amazing, that's the main reason I quoted you.

I ignore stating that I'm pescaterian because I just assume most people don't know the difference, but yes, I have gone fishy route.
All in all, I'd love to eat meats, and don't have a problem with killing animals. I do have a problem with the way that animals that we eat are treated. I do plan to incorporate meat back into my diet in the future when I can raise it myself. I hope to get into chickens primarily in about 3-5 years.

Should be the same with fruits and vegetables. Lots of bad shit being sprayed on our food. ESPECIALLY when its imported from other countries. Speaking from the US perspective. Maybe some of the members' countries here don't have corrupt agricultural practices.

kind of hard to chop the head off a chicken ethically.

While I have no where near the issues with fruits/veggies... I grow a fair amount of my own. I have space in my apartment, and a community garden plot. Granted... not in winter so much, but overall, yes.

Nah, it's everything leading up to that part that requires more ethical work

If I'm being honest with myself, chickens are one of my top reason to move out of a city. Also mushrooms, but those are mush easier to grow indoors.

Ive raised chickens and other fowl. Nothing pretty about harvesting them. It's really pretty disgusting. So much I don't mind shelling out 5-6 bucks to be out of the know of where the bird came from. Eggs are bad ass though.

I had a weird dream I was looking at an albino mushroom? Gets weirder, then it was a dire situation where we were all hungry, I went to grab a white skinny chicken no one else could, grabbed it snapped its neck, felt the bones break, even rubbed my finger on the bones, but didnt feel any emotions. So fucking bizarre. I can usually figure dream out but this one is a stretch... The chickens reminded me of it.* plus I'm super high, lol.

By ethical i just meant quickest and cleanest death, cutting the heads off chickens isn't necessarily the most ethical but its probably the easiest way

My sister in law raises chickens, ducks, Turkey, pigs and that is where I get my stuff. I do most of my own butchering. Local beef, fish and wild game make up the rest. Mostly from the store I buy bacon. Pigs really need to have bigger bellies for more bacon lol and I garden what I can.
Hey Trypt, was that a confession that you know that there are ‘s that taste like ?

I confess, I've gotten ballzy and tried my luck with a blue oyster blenderless LI on supplemented sawdust... see how it goes...
Now on topic confession
Gf raises chickens for eggs, and I've convinced her recently to buy some meat birds... under the condition I'll kill them when the time comes... all our chickens are free range, organic grain fed, never had antibiotics(aside from honey)

I've harvested a few dozen fowl. After a while I was like fuck this. They've got a shit ton of warm guts you gotta be real careful with removing. Mix that with all the blood and feathers floating around. It's a shitshow.
