I grew one pf tek that was barely successful. Probably like 50%...
Since then I've done 2 test cakes for cultures and never looked back at PF.

once you have well developed skills, there is something nice, almost relaxing, about doing a pf-tek. not having to do culture work all the time just to see a new variety of fruits is kind of cool.

I think bulk growing is way better than pf cakes in every way.
But cakes doesn't need a pc thats the thing.

Sorry, I missed that the purpose for the half-pints was for pf tek. I used the regular mouthed taller half pints for my one pf experience. They worked fine but I see advantages of the wide-mouths.

But what munch is saying is legit
There are reasons/pros to small contained grows like that, especially for testing a culture or race
Bottles and cakes both rock in this regard
Nothing is as simple as "X is better than Y", it's all relative to what you are talking about
Bulk Teks are definitely better than pf Tek for bulk, but Munch's point was that there can be other reasons for doing a small grow like cakes besides inexperience or bulk potential

PF tek has a certain "fun" to it. Also sometimes it throws you a nice clone.

If you are testing 100 isolates, bottles or cakes are very appealing
Though it'd be hard to draw too many conclusions about how cultures would perform in bulk from the way they do on bottle or cakes
But you could definitely spot crazy phenotypes like albinos, dicks, etc, and compare lots of cultures

Fellas, there are many places to discuss mush cult Teks and their nuances and pros and cons.
What I'm looking for in this thread is. Confessions of odd mush cult related behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes, and mistakes that you can shameless admit here in the confessional. I don't mind the odd digression but please try to stay on topic.
Example: for a very long time I though hpoo = hippo poo (a presumably select zoo poo variety)
If you're running out of material invite a friend over and see what dark secrets they will share...

Mushboy maybe you could write s poem or ballad:
"Sometimes all I want to do is dunk and roll some cakes"
I'm sure I'm the fine old blues tradition you could work in some sexual innuendo

Not really a confession but i,ve been thinking of puting nutritional labels on my mushrooms so if i get rolled i can say i legitimately thought it was exotic food. I know it wouldn't hold up, but by definition they are food. Just food with "drugs" smushed into it's cells. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/psilocybin-mushrooms-dried-cured-405215571?v2=false
4g's of shrooms has twice the K of a bannana. (:

Brilliant! (Even if it doesn't work)
I thought of Labeling bags "chaga tea" That would just make me look like a very bad identifier, right?
