I dont think the question should be "does poop work?" but rather "do I want to use poop to grow something I'm going to consume, that absolutely does not require I use poop to grow it?"

When in the bush, I use elephant poop as a mosquito repellent.

No not that way. Dried elephant poop when set on fire will smolder, and the smoke keeps away mozzies.

I just realized a very important question: Will cubes grow in elephant poop? There's only one way to find out.

Why would that be important?  The statement "cubes grow without elephant poop" is enough for me to skip that particular experiment lmao

For Science!

I'm gonna stalk you in these forums with my elephant poop progress.

I'm gonna see if I can find some rhino and hippo poo too. Cause why the hell not.

Cuz ima eat that shit eventually! (literally) LMAO

I'm Just giving you hell, and understand that some species will not do well without it... but I don't see pushing out more than an already full canopy... I guess it might give larger fruit, but I'd speculate not, as dung is pretty insufficient at holding moisture: water being the majority of fruit size... just too perfect with the nutrition of grain spawn,  and water retention of coir:  marriage made in heaven... simple, effective... but by all means,  IN THE NAME OF SCIENCE WITH YOUR POOSPERIMENTS!(Lol, sounds like a poor choice for a gum flavor)

There are many varieties of cubes and pans that grow wild on hippopotamus and elephant dung in Africa.

The Nepal Chitwan variety originated from the dung of a large herbivore.

"Original collection material was obtained by Baerbel in the village of Sauraha near the Chitwan Jungle of Nepal. Three specimens were located in otherwise dry climate conditions (three months after typical mushroom seasons), and shaded by a nearby tree. Specimens picked from what appeared to be either elephant or rhino dung. Original sample specimen pictures below and right."

I'm not arguing that cubensis is filling the niche of a coprophilic decomposer in nature; only it's necessity for cultivating the fruit I intend to ingest lol

Should work yesum, as reishi isn't real picky for FAE it seems... the jar looks mighty creamy, is it over colonized or bacterial?

I don't think its bacterial. I guess reishi gets thick like this. Honestly I was watching it get thicker and thicker daily.

It seemed fluffy until I spawned it... then got thick,  but I thought maybe it was more prone to matting... seemed to start fruiting just fine... I fucked that one up though lol

I confess apes are stronger. Drank 3 grams in a tea last night and had the most visual trip ive ever had on mushrooms. I also got contacts and it was a full moon so that played a roll im sure but still. Everything was flowing like liquid. The colors were so bright. And the clouds in the sky danced around the moon telling me stories i didnt understand. It was beautiful. Man I fucking love these mushrooms.

Reishi gets thick AF, very tough mycelium. Looks sexy. *

*unless I'm wrong, then it doesn't look sexy at all...

I emailed my local zoo and asked if I could get some elephant or zebra poo for my hoogs...they said no

Enough of this shit already!

(See what I did there?)

Seriously some zoos compost their manure (combining all the herbavore poop) and sell it as “Zoopoo” and folks have grown cubes on it.

I confess that I’ve let my day job interfere with my hobby and I’m once again letting bags and jars consolidate for way too long!
