This is something Psilo and Eat came up with. I think you’ll like it if you try it:

how fast does the mycelium grow on the cornmeal plates? comparable to MEA or PDA? Heard that mycelium won't grow and reach out as fast with extra nutrients is why I ask.

It grows at a similar rate. I don’t recall it being a lot slower, but I don’t remember it being faster either.
Hey Caps! I confess that you have me curious about “SAGARI”. Your points about the elegance of the approach and cutting down the number of steps (and vectors for contamination) are good ones. Sssoooo... could you share the basics of your “SAGRI” Tek? (Like your recipie and how / how much you transfer?) Is it like a Tiger Drop but with soft agar? How much do you shake initially? Do you shake until your agar puck is obliterated?
One other thing... I confess - “SAGARI” is a really bad ass acronym! It’s like a wild African jungle beast met up with mycology and had a love child! Chant with me now Myco Brothers and Sisters!: SAG Ah RI! , SAHG AH REE! SAHGG AAHH REEEE!
The chorus rises up from Myco labs all over the world.

Spindly and Psilo sitting in a tree..
Oh I confess I feel so boring when I leave ratings sometimes that I occasionally secretly steal material from other great ratings. Sometimes I take bits and pieces from several different. It's still very personal on my side the way I see it, I mean it but just can't always to formulate it so it sounds 'genuine'

I confess I was trying to ''lay low'' but I keep getting this annoying issue where my mushrooms have areas of localized decay as they grow. I'm pretty sure I just need to retire the clone and all it's siblings but it's like, the literal fuck caused this in over 5 tubs?

Sure, my SAGARI tek
I'm actually down to 3g agar powder and 4g LME to 525ml of water... may cut nutes further as I'm still getting partial tomentose growth from well established rhizomorphic cultures... there are a few pics of jars... more to come... it's a work in progress I suppose, though really just refining soft agar and utilizing it to it's fullest potential... not deeply innovative by any means lol
And thx btw... it took a few hours, but then it hit me like "duh!"

This seems more like a pathogen issue rather than a cultural one IMO

That tub looks like it is loaded with trichoderma which will wreck havoc on fruits ... eating them from the inside. They can literally liquify a fruit over time. Throw out any and all of that culture, clean all of your growing tool, work areas, etc very well. Re examine your sterile technique and any and all sources of unfiltered air in your growing area. You do not need a scientific quality clean room to grow mushrooms but attention to sterile technique and hygiene are essential to success. What you have there is a time bomb that if you do not get rid of it will cast millions of contaminant spores into your growing area.

Silicone grease if you want to be really anal about it. It's pretty cheap at the home center.

The one day I do not check on my tubs,,,, 24Q showing trich mycelium and the smell of mint, tossed, mono with 3 shoeboxes, one shoebox 1/4 of it green. Now the other two are probably compromised.
Seeing a pattern here, just when ya think it's over and ya can relax thinking fuck it I wont check em today,,,, It is like it knows, "ok hes gone, time to surface!!"
Note to self, never leave em unchecked for more than 24 hours because you didn't want to spend ten minutes to give em a look over.

I just bought a new Presto. The one I had for a little over a year was getting sketchy. The bottom got concave. Like if I laid it on the counter it would wobble around. Anyone ever have that happen?

Is this common with you folks?
Whenever I have time, my taste buds are wacky. I ate an orange and each segment tasted different. The 1st segment was the sweetest thing I have ever eaten, the next extremely sour, the next had no taste at all.
I've eaten spicy Indian leftovers (love those containers ) that I knew to be very spicy, and I felt ZERO spice.
Food in general is another level of experience for me. I've eaten a red pepper that made me cry.
*not yet Asura, mine is a year old.

Ive got the presto 23 qt. Just got it like 5 weeks ago and i did grease the gasket but missed the small one on the valve thing that pops up. That is where it was leaking. I fliped the gasket so it gets a seal now but im thinking i should order a new one before it gives out. And a backup. And an auto clave. And a flow hood. And and and....
