Don't be to hard on yourself if doesn't work out or should i say mad?

I confess ive never heard of anyone trip on 4 g *DRY* Pan Cinc't.  Thats pretty cool. Also confess haven't really known many to mess with them. Around here pretty much only looking in those habitats when someone requests a print or taking a short cut to the wood lover habitat. Always thought lost potency quick while drying as well. Like i said Sub, cool shit.

Guess i pick for gill shots as well?

And last but not least, cheerleading mediocracy. everyone needs a trophy here too? This wasn't a reply to anyone's post here, just a rant. I know I haven't been here long, and I'm very grateful for this place, and that's why I feel I should say something, before giving up on it. Guess ive come to realize I'm not meant for social media. This was my first encounter with it.lol.

i confess... i don't know why i come here. i mean, try and participate. i never enrolled in any social media, and only regularly contributed to one other online forum specific to my motorcycle. have never owned a "smartphone" or pocket computer as i call it. memes annoy the piss outta me. i don't even own a fucking television. fb is the mothafuckin devil.

i first came here to learn to do something which turned out to save my life. naturally, i'm grateful for that. returning after a few years, the vibes are different. many of the familiar faces from back then earned themselves TC tags and became board mods. others disappeared like i did. still others checked outta this life, may they peacefully rest. and something else... i don't notice much in the way of all out dick-measuring/pissing contests anymore. there was much flaming in mushcult back then. didn't feel like we were all on the same team. more like, strangers with vaguely aligned interests.

i guess i'd rather see some mediocre cheerleading. now we have threads dedicated to specific generalities like copelandias or woodlovers or stone producers, collecting data in one spot. it's always difficult to sort through stuff, tho. so if someone asks a question you just answered for yourself by reading through pages and pages of irrelevant nonsense, so fucking what if you try to answer from reading rather than experience? i've had several recent questions go unanswered entirely. c'est la vie.
</counterrant>

Emphasis: mine.

I haven't been here for long at all, so I can't speak to how it has changed over time. However, what I can say is that this community has been an awesome resource for me learning new techniques, up to date info and getting feedback.

You know what cheerleaders do? They encourage there team, even if they are totally fucking up and loosing for being total dumbasses. Just because someone is doing shit incorrectly doesn't mean they don't warrant some encouragement to learn the correct way, and to keep at it. We all start from somewhere. Encouragement does not mean praise. Anyway, I'd rather be a member of a team rather than some disjoint asshole. (Hypothetical, not calling anyone an asshole)

I don't have a shit load of experience, but I have spent a lot of time distilling information from this forum, and there are certain things that the community is in complete consensus about. Sometimes I may respond from this distilled consensus, rather than experience, but like Jack Flash said, I'd rather have someone do that than get no answers at all.

1,3 year old members are the consensus of the community?that's most of what you see now. perfect example: everybody says they dont mist their tubs before first flush, and if your subs right you shouldn't have to... A big consensus. But I have yet to have any tub, no matter the sub, not need misting through first flush. If I went by what people said about that I wouldn't have grown shit yet. At least half of what I learned I did by doing, I have a gallery full of tubs if people dont believe me. Not trying to brag or start an argument, just trying to explain what I mean.

Oh and cheerleaders cheer for the team even when their losing.

Personally, I don't see that as a consensus. I wouldn't have suggested that to anyone. It's dry as fuck in my apartment and have had to mist several times in my last shoebox run, before full colonization of the sub. That's an idealism, at best. Haven't heard that from a TC, that I can remember, and their opinions carry more weight in my view.

But, I do totally understand what you are saying! There is a lot of chaff, people offering their opinions when they should not be. But that's the internet, right?

Yeah, that's what I said. Is that a bad thing? Also not trying to star an argument :sunny:

.i dont see any full size monotubs. Shoeboxes need closer care for sure. But a properly made monotub with holes and poly doesnt need to be misted first flush.

Even in a desert environment.
