They smelled really good after shaking. There was a little moisture pushed out of the grains, but overall they didn't look contaminated.

Is it common for grains to need a shake after G2G?
It depends. But shaking post g2g isn't uncommon ime
why did you smell them? you ONLY want to do that before you spawn them... putting your nose over uncolonized grain is a bad idea

Probably a dumb question, but full recovery would simply be stuck together again correct?

Recovery from a shake is pretty much that, just visibly observe that the mycelium continues to colonize after it is shaken.

Agar is made from red algae, not xanthum gum, I've never seen it used but what do I know.

I confess that my bag of WBS wasn't fully colonized. Because when I dumped it onto some coir in a 105qt I noticed a couple small pockets of uncolonized grain while breaking it up. I tried to keep the uncolonized grain out as best I could but it was too late. I hope it at least throws me one flush

Hi my name is Grimsweeper and I'm a Mycoholic. It's after 10PM and I have to get up for work at 3AM but I'm waiting for agar to cool to pour a new sleeve.

I have a shoebox out in the garage in Grimsweeper's not so simple AF All in One Vend-O-Matic Grow Chamber 5000.
I'm not sure if it's PESA or PE6 I'm kinda buzzed lol. At the very least I'm pretty sure i made an LC of it. How'd it work out for you?

I did the same!
I've since put a piece of plexi on top and stand to do my SAB work. The visibility is leaps and bounds better and I can breath again!
