Re: TRUE CONFESSIONS - of an amateur mycologist *DELETED* [Re: tryptkaloids]
    #25386440 - 08/13/18 07:29 PM (5 years, 5 months ago)

I had a bit of a mean streak regarding Lyme symptoms. None of my friends and most of my family saw much of me either. Was getting a dreadful amount of jerky seizure type shit, and took me quite a while to get that under control. At the worst point, I called up my buddy to drive me to a dispensary (coffeeshop in our terms) and after we parked, I basically shook n struggled my way to the shop, looking like a guy with pretty far along Parkinson's. The security was more concerned with whether I was alright than whether my ID checked out. Didn't see my buddy after that for a while neither because he had to take some time away from me to cope with seeing all that shit. Got to him pretty bad, and honestly, it got to me pretty fucking bad as well. So on top of the shakes, came the emotional burden of my body breaking down before 30. And of course, whenever Lyme is in the mix, you also get to deal with one doctor after the other who either tell you they can't do shit for you, or try to put you on stuff that'll make you feel even less yourself than you do already.

And of course, the way back to health again was to be found by none other than my sole self, because doctors usually wouldn't know a poison from a cure if you  nearly killed em with it.

Basically, it involves copious amounts of zinc, b6, magnesium taurate, and of course a whole bunch of other herbs, mushrooms, oils and minerals. I'm not there yet, but I have enough good days to make life worth living again, and to even enjoy most hours of most days the past weeks. Energy is returning, insights gained, and hopefully, soon I'll be taking on a course geared towards expanding my knowledge on food in relation to personal and universal health.

How you doing?

Hey Lizard, stay strong, that’s a long shitty road.  I follow a lady (relative of a friend) who has Lyme disease and she is so strong and inspirational.  She’s got a good blog on her journey.  If youre interested in reading.

Don’t give up and get pushy with those docs if you have to.
Good luck man.

Ey, missed your posts lizard buddy.

I took a squiz at Stamet's table of medicinal benefits from different mushrooms, and for "anti bacterial" and "Immune system" qualities theres reishi, turkey tail, shiitake, and cordyceps listed.

So get cultivatin'!

It doesn’t look contaminated to me. Of course I could very well be wrong. What makes you think it looks contaminated? I’ve never used bird seed, only oats, so it looks different than my spawn.

The slight discoloration in the center of each photo. Looks like a greyish/green spot forming. I'll be keeping an eye on them for sure. Out of the six, five of them are like this so keeping fingers crossed!

I see. I thought it was a refraction of color from something else in the spawn. Is it too wet? Have you tried oats? They’re so freaking easy!

Also, I put some agar in grain last night... and the metal lid fell down. So now it’s just a jar,lid ring, and filter. I think that one is a goner.

Don't think they are to wet. I did rush the process this time so maybe a little more than last time. I also had a hard time popping the lids off when transferring the grains and might have cross contaminated a little as I tore my gloves in the process. It was a lone jar that I had left and decided to attempt G2G instead of making some more substrate to do just a shoebox. No big deal as I still have some more WBS to make some more jars. If these do happen to be contaminated, I think I will just make some new jars and inoculate them with some Golden Halo I've been wanting to try while I work on some agar. See if I can get luck with a GH MS grow, like I did with my last grow of Z-Strain MS.

Really, you should try some oats. I don't soak them. I don't rinse them, I boil them for about 1-1.5 hours. Let them cool down on a screen, and pack.
