I confess, I just injected penis envy and pan cyan LC into the same three jars as I wasn't paying attention...I'll just have to see what happens, maybe I'll get a super mutant new strain....wishful thinking

I confess I bought an agar kit for $24.99

Bought syringes (not a Shroomery vendor) and after a few attempts nothing worked for me.  Re-ordered syringes with an agar kit thinking I could minimize my mistakes.  Maybe the syringes had froze this winter in the mail, maybe my agar wasn’t done right.....Low success rate.

Then I ordered prints ( awesome Shroomery vendor) made my agar and every plate turned out.

To all noobs out there, save yourself time and money and don’t be scared of prints or agar.

Thats what I was thinking too.  The second batch of syringes I kept upright for a day before using them so the spores would go to the bottom.  (Read that on here somewhere) Out of six, one of those agar plates grew something, the rest were just tiny water marks.

But the first go-around really showed me how I needed to improve my sterile tek!

I confess, I just did such a sloppy batch of Agar to Grain. Left myself no space to work in the SAB, struggled to get the rings off, knocked the lids around , shook the scalpel too hard in some, stuck half the scalpel in the jar, etc.

I need to up my game.

Ok I’ve done such a crap job of creating a July Give Away that I have chosen your confession as a rando winner. Plus it seems you could use some good spores. Send me a PM with your address and I’ll send you some Spore prints!

I think this is a GREAT idea. I will make it (or a mi or variation) the August contest theme.

Biggest oh shit moment was when some alcohol ran down my glove, down the scalpel, into the blowtorch and then set my hand on fire. It flared out in a second and since I have no arm hair I lost nothing but my pride. But now I pay close attention to the way I hold my scalpel when flaming it.

I had something similar happen...
the worst part was I didn’t realize it was happening for a while. My SAB had poor visibility and the alcohol flame wasn’t putting out much light so it was a bit warm then really fucking hot before I realized what was happening and jerked my hands out. Everything I was doing in that session was toast!

(Yes I now know not to flame my scalpel IN the SAB)

:hahawot: i can relate. Happens to me most of the time.

Biggest shit and OH MY moment for me is a red hot needle slipping thru my wet gloves, injecting sterile water thru my thigh.:smbfacepalm:

Since I work semi naked most of the time.
