Millet is the worst when it spills. It's sensible to cry over it.

I confess the first time I used a syringe in a SAB I struggled opening it. I Stabbed my left thumb and proceeded to bleed all over everything. I didn't get any contams, but nothing spawned from it.
I was also shooting huge loads all over agar with the spore-water. Shot it into one grain jar and got nothing out of it.
The next day I attempted the same thing and its all

I confess I hate working with syringes. I'd much rather do swabs to agar and blenderless LI.

I confess! I started my amateur mycologists journey in January. I didn’t read enough, I didn’t read enough from trusted cultivators, my planning and techniques fell apart. I am now trying over, still waiting on some supplies but was cleaning out my jars of regrets and failures. Thought I had it all done and found this today. I threw some not-ready agar (hell, not even started, no signs of anything) into WBS jars in March. At that point I had given up and just threw it in there like a Hail Mary throw. Was going to throw it all out anyway so what the hell? I’m assuming there isn’t anything good there but thought I would put it up here anyway. Got me pretty excited for a minute.

Every plate from my last round is Bacterial AF. Checked the grain water I had made it with in fridge and it wreaks. Apparently I made plates from rancid grain water and didn't notice at the time. Not sure if I still have the previous donor plates for some of these cultures. Lesson learned.

protip: freeze your grain water in ice cube trays. then empty them into big gallon freezer bags or tupperware. i think i actually wrote a thread on it. it would only last a week or two in the fridge without any preservatives in it. it will last indefinitely if you freeze it.

Yeah,I did avoid those. I spilt it all on my right foot, which is blistered to fuck, but it could've been worse.

Dahhhmn Shomann! That sucks big time. I hope you heal up fast Bro!
A word out to the true confessions crew - I’ve read some good ideas for the July contest and I’m going to get that going soon, so keep an eye out.

I prepped 40 jars of oats from like 7 fully/over colonized grains. I only came back from vacation to find 7 seemingly clean jars and 33 green jars...
I will be starting from scratch with Texas Yellow Cap spores to agar today.

I confess that when I started, I knocked up 4 master qt wbs jars with 4 diff strains, then 4 more with rye and the same 4 strains, and 4 1/2 pint brf jars with each strain, now I have like 4 jars filled with mushrooms, a couple pissed like allll over themselves, and some got contaminated with bacteria, of they were just really wet, all this cause I'm lazy and tried to do too much at once lol. Now I have a tub colonizing ready to pin! Lol
