That's awesome dude man. I hope those stay clean and give you some nice fruit! Just started colonizing grain for my first bulk grow. Sorta nervous about how it's gonna turn out. Depending on how it goes, I might just get some shoeboxes started so I'm not risking a lot with one large grow, and have 3 or 4 semi-large grows.

Are you sure that’s right Psilo? I thought KS was the regular variety and KSSS was the mutant one... Because I have tubs of the latter about to pin and more jars ready to spawn, and I wanted some mutant shrooms

Yeah I’m pretty sure... If you google Koh Samui Super Strain Spores and look at a range of vendo photos you’ll see that most of the phenotypes are pretty normal looking cubes. I’m not sure where the super stubby mutant variety of KSSS arose but I have never seen it. I got my KSSS spores from a Shroomery member who got them from .... Bod or muddafuka(?).
Aggressive colonizer, dense potent fruits, large to very large fruits, good flushes, etc. Anyway I’ve been “viewing” the same culture for several years and it’s one of my favorites!

Interesting. Sounds similar to the APE and subsequent grows from swabs thing
Mine are from a syringe from a reputable vendor that another member here gave me.

I don’t doubt that KSSS produces the flying saucer type pheno... I just don’t think that KSSS is synonymous with that phenotype. If it was the half dozen different vendo photos of KSSS would all be of those mutants.
Like you say - both are great variations.
To be honest however, as some folks have pointed out - the stubby guys are probably a pain in the ass to harvest / clean. I would grow them once or twice just for the looks

I like the weirdo mutants too. Do the Thai varieties really have a different vibe to them compared to the Mexico, South America varieties?
I confess I just put Thai pink buffalo spores to agar.

I confess, I might have mixed up my spawn....... Those are in my AA+ Tub:
And these tiny white pins too:

I only got that AA+ tub plus two shoeboxes of Redboys going. If I mixed up my spawn, I will get leucistic fruits in my RB shoeboxes.

The perception change is placebo.

agree to disagree. In my experience. The normal cube phenos have meh potency. The dense fat shorties are slightly above average. That being said, yield isn't as good and I have limited sample size witheach
