I confess, put all my mushroom blocks outside when it got warm enough then it got not warm enough and most of them were killed or contaminated, I now have the squiggliest compost bins I've ever seen.

clean spawn doesn't even need to be hit against anything ime. maybe the palm of your hand. But realistically it should break up by a few hard shakes

Use a fork dummy. Stop slashing your hands open before you get to the wrist area. We're not done with you here!
In all seriousness, hope you're not cut up too badly. That shit sucks.

Nah the second one didn't get me at all. The first one really just cut the top of a knuckle, but hardly any pain. I have stoppe with the tools and will only use me hands from now on. I was able to loosen up the grain enough I think it will work out. I have another 40lb of the WBS and I think I will just grow it and then harvest the grains separately throughout the season.

If you have some PF jars, you could use those instead, no need for shaking there, you just pop em out whole.

I was only experimenting with the wbs for master jars, I have another 50lb of oats just sitting here and I have run through 100lb of oats in the last 2 months. I figured the milo and millet would nestle into the pockets of the oats and be more efficient having more mass in the same volume. I still want to do so, but I'm not gonna throuw more money at it, instead I have 5 acres to play with and it's finally getting warm again.

Since you're planning on growing out the wbs I suggest throwing it out there now, I grew some inadvertently while feeding the birds in the early winter. It can handle cold. The more time it has to get water the better

Its easier to break up wbs with 30% of the jar free of seed. It can be a damn chore breaking it up if its filled 90% w a tiny fuckin air pocket. I just did that with some jars but i held the lid with index and thumb and swatted the bottom of my shoe without incident.

I went overboard with grain masters and don't have enough jars to expand to so i've been going through peoples recycling bins at night time.
There's a particular house who eat more pickles than i think is humanly possibly, but i'm very grateful, they even clean them out and keep the lids with them.
