I'm in the hospital, I can't freaking breath and coughing my lungs up. They need to give me some codeine and phenergan to help loosen this shit up so I sleep. I think I'm hosting a UFC fight in my chest.

I confess: I miss when I was just a lurker on here and a bunch of the old hats would chime in from time to time with little bits of wisdom.

AND the Winners of the January Contest ARE:
First Place
goes to Shomann who reeeely went all in by converting his entire bedroom into a fruiting chamber and ended up growing fungus on his face!
Quote:
Shomann said: I confess...
My very first grow I did, I did in a walk in closet. In this closet I had 3 shotgun fruiting chambers, an ultrasonic humidifier on its highest setting 24/7 and a fan at the top corner blowing everything clockwise. I had an alex grey shower curtain covering the doorway
This was in my bedroom closet. So after sleeping in what was basically a cloud, for several weeks, I got an eye infection. I thought it was allergies, so I let it go too long. By the end of it all I thought I was going to lose my eyesight and experienced some of the worst pain of my life.
I'm an organized, generally clean human. However, sleeping in the cloud of humidity that was my bedroom is something I'll never, ever do again.
P.s. I hope to never tell this story again
Second Place
goes to TheMadHatter420 with a CLASSIC "I won't do that again" confession. This error is so classic that the Shroomery has a gif for it. Yes TheMadHatter tried to blow himself up with an alcohol filled SAB ignition. The only thing more explosive than that in this hobby is spraying lysol in the SAB with an alcohol lamp. Don't try this at home kids!
Quote:
TheMadHatter420 said: "I WON"T DO THAT AGAIN!!!"
Well a little over a year ago I cam back into this hobby after like 10 years. I had forgotten a lot as well as remembered old as fuck and outdated things. Well I built an actually glove box, sealed up. I had alcohol in there and used a lighter. It had been fine the first few times, I guess this time there was enough fumes for ignition. In the blink of an eye I watched everything ignite, tub and lid blew apart. Paper towels were on fire and my arms were stuck in the gloves, attached to the tub. Yea I got it under control and didn't burn the house down, but that will NEVER be done again. I learned lessons about thinking everything through. Don't blow yourselves up guys, lol.
Third Place
goes to mushboy for confessing the perils of combining home mycology and seafood... 'This crab tastes like shit!'. If you have been on the Shroomery long enough you have posted or read posts where processing horse poo in pots, in the oven, anywhere in the house has gravely offended roommates, family, spouses, etc with offensive odors. This one takes the cake though with the full culinary experience:
Quote:
mushboy said: ive told this story a few times... but ill share again cause its classic.
ill never pillow tek tons of poop in a seafood steamer, NOT clean it out, and NOT tell my dad why the crabs he steamed stank of shit. his fault for not cleaning it out in the first place but fukkit.. ill never do that again.. he even ate them too but tossed em cause 'they tasted like shit'
Winners Please send me a PM with your address. I am awarding a bit of a grab bag this time. I have some "mystery prints" unlabeled cubensis prints I have some guesses about what they are but it would be no fun to say... because... "Mystery Prints" is so much better. So your prize will include a Mystery Print One or more lid accessories such as a wide mouth plastic lid, synthetic filter disks, or a ship. I might also through in some centrifuge tubes for sending cultures (edible of course).
Thank you all for playing!
For the March Contest I hope to have some Cambodian Gold prints and or PE swabs.
-------------------- What are they saying? Listen carefully, it might be something you need to hear...

Nice, Psilo! I'm honored.
It was pure stupidity. An ophthalmologist who was about 75 was screaming at me when I finally went to see one. He had no clue how I'd managed to do this to myself, it was about 5 different types of infections. The hue coming from a closed, curtained window was far too much to handle.
An embarrassing story, and one that reflects personal stupidity. Never again.

Every time I see a pic posted of an aquarium being used as a sgfc I can’t help but wonder whether the pic was taken back in the 80’s. Just saying
Its kinda like getting into video games now but starting with Colecovision or Commodore 64
