I confess I'm building a GH right now. 8x8ft GH. I just got a 2x4ft hepa in the mail and I'm deciding which blower I'm going to get.
It's gonna be a good year

Ok so for everyone who know's my struggle today is finally the day. My first heavy pinset! These KSSS are nuts. Finally getting the same action I see on agar!

Yay! I knew they would do well for you! One of my favorite strains. People will tell you that they are potent too!
Right now I’m reviving an old KSSS clone me I’ve had for years and starting a new KSSS culture from spores.
I’m having trouble getting my Cambodian Gold to germinate though. I want to make some prints of those for you regular confessors

Oh, my confession, you ask?? Well, if I may be so humble.
My first agar liquid culture ever (a BIG one, over half a gallon of LC), many many years ago, had just finished colonizing. I was in the process of moving it to the glove box (we used glove boxes back in the day) and proceeded to slip and fall on a cotton swab I had lazily left on the floor. Needless to say, the liquid culture went EVERYWHERE.
Know what's worse then dropping a fully colonized jar of healthy liquid culture? Picking up all the little bits of once-healthy mycelium

I Confess that my pe look more like regular cubes. They do have some traits of the traditional pe like the knarley stipe when mature, they take their sweet ass time from spawn to harvest, and they seem to be more potent gram for gram than a few other varieties I've tried.
That said, the caps look like a regular cube like a golden teacher or PESA. They will also print very well on foil. I was just wondering if anyone else has run into this scenario.
I did go back to spores to agar to try and get some new genes. We'll see.

Lost a gallon of LC? Oh man that is one sad tale of woe!

I hope nothing like that ever happened to you again!

I hear ya on that.
I've missed the shroomery a lot. Many things have changed here it seems over the years but the heart and soul still exists. Seems they have a better control on moderation and control of the boards.
Been alright, living the life as always.
Hope you've been doing well, too!

It's interesting to see all the things I suspected - like agar is easier than LC and glove boxes cause contam problems - are true. And other things, like CVG being better than horse poo just blow my mind.
I'm about to sign off here but shoot me a PM we'll shoot the sh%t some time, catch up on everything.

Started over from scratch in December from spores. Got my first batch of 100% colonized jars of KSSS sitting in the shroomidor. You think I'd be excited and mixing up my sub...yet here I am. A little gun shy I guess.

Yeah I noticed the tin foil is getting a little brittle. The large tin foil trays I'm using are temporary. I usually use shoe boxes. I had cut some sub into pieces because the mono tub was too big for the Martha and the only thing big enough were my bulk pasteurization trays. The gamble paid off because they are doing well. I guess my shrooms don't do well outside of a Martha because the humidity barely gets above 30 in this place because I always have my space heater on because I need me room to be at least 72 degrees for me to feel warm. That's why I love the summer so much. I'm a little worried the humidity fluctuation of 5 percent is a bit much so I dropped it to 2 percent to see how everything does. Some of the caps in the lower part of the chamber looked a little dry. If that doesn't work out I may have to restrict air flow to the bottom and open the tent a few extra times a day. I know I should have a fan in there but right now I'm strapped for cash and have to wait till I can buy a good fan timer and small fan. Plus it's no biggie really since I'll be around enough to open it and I like checking things out. The fan will only be important if I have to go away for a few days.
So today I make some grain again finally. It's time to see what this wild oyster LC can do. It looks like a little nimbus cloud. Better give it a shake.

Maybe you should just expand them 10 to 1 then.
