I grew some mold today too! Tried to clone a blue oyster last night. Checked on it earlier today and nothing. Looked at it tonight and it was a fucking pin mold explosion with sporangium everywhere. I don't think I'm getting any transfers from that one for sure.
Also it's ok now. They only got really wet cause the sensor fell on the floor and was reading the humidity there so the humidifier kept going. They look much better now. In fact I don't think my surface conditions have ever been so good which is exciting. They are just the right amount of moist.

@Kyshroomer - I had a very nice BHT clone going there for a while. I really liked them also. BHT comes from the same island as KSSS.
@Dabadoo... that is a nice confession and one only an amateur mycologist would understand. The old baby mushies just have a way of fascinating us and giving us a kind of calm excitement.

I just harvested 26g dry from a shoebox today of baht and I just spawned 2 shoeboxes and a mono of it too. I have a shoebox of a pesa clone and like 32 jars that are almost done. I have only grown out a few cube varieties but I think but might be my fav so far.

Was the 26g shoebox displaying the same signs you posted about in general discussion? That's more than I've been getting

I really liked BHT when I was a new spore too. Here goes my most recent run in with it.

I confess, I had a nice trip to the local beer/winter making store to buy malt extract.
The woman working the counter engaged me in conversation and began asking what I do with the malt extract, if I make beer or wine.
When I told her I was a mycologist and used the malt for making up agar, she began telling me about another guy who grew mushrooms, but he wouldn't ever bring her any. She told me that her and family and friends would buy all the specialty mushrooms I could grow. I also thought the young guy growing mushrooms most likely isn't growing edibles.
I was surprised at the quality and price of the different malt extracts. I can purchase as little as an ounce, so, I'm considering making agar with different malts, at different concentrations.
I would like to be able to supply shroomery members with a variety of agar based products at 5-10% above cost. Shipping is what really drives cost up, but I would figure that into my price. I just want to provide a quality product that is very affordable.

I confess I may need to get rid of my cat. Not really though. I'd never do that. But somehow one of her little hairs snuck into one of my LC jars. I must have kicked up some dust while boiling the water for it. My burner gets unusually hot and I'm paranoid if I don't keep it on the concrete that it will set my place on fire. So I guess I still have cat hair cultures. Also I was really annoyed because I couldn't figure out how this black pepper stuff was getting into my LC's since clearly the flow hood was on. It was little specks of burnt shit from my scalpel. Well at least it's all sterile and the cultures are just for me. The cultures I made in the glucose water look surprisingly good especially the wild oyster. I'm going to have my first home made LC's. I'm going to go to the store and buy some more jars so I can make some agar and test them out to see if they are clean. I literally have no jars left. I should probably slow down a bit. This weekend I'm making grain and growing out some wild oysters and maybe some TOC's maybe.

Hey Doc I don’t want to slam it down too hard but as the OP of this thread I feel I have to remind you that the Shroomery operates primarily on advertising dollars so they don’t like posts that may compete with their sponsors and or advertisers. Ask a mod about what is acceptable and you may find that it’s ok to post something like this but perhaps only in the marketplace forum.

Not trying to do that, I would go through all the proper steps, I would be strictly shroomery vendor. That's my goal, just sharing my ideas.

Cool, i confess,I looked into starting a myco store. I just wanted to do lab consumables and eventually industrial lot sterilization. But it's expensive to start so it won't happen this spring.
I'll visit Doc's Mushroom supplies once you get a site up.

Woohooo! Finally shits working good. I'm building a larger chamber for my setup now that I know it works. I got the shelf and everything to build it tomorrow. I need room for my cubes and my oysters and this 20 dollar greenhouse isn't cutting it. I'll switch everything over after this flush is done. I can't afford a second inkbird and humidifier this month.
