From closet with a cling wrap sneeze gaurd as a SAB to owning 4 flow hoods. that's some upgrade.
The Cordyceps project sounds like an awesome one. I've been reading up a bit on them, definitely want to grow them. Maybe next winter I can look at really trying cordyceps. This spring and summer I'm planning on building outdoor beds. Mostly gourmet.

I have several cultures I've been expanding that I got off a friend. I need to transfer them again since they've taken over the jars. I want to make it into LC. And yeahdef an upgrade. LOL@ cling wrap. It's thick heavy clear vinyl. The same stuff I'm using for my temporary Martha. It actually works quite well. I built it on the same principle as a sab with arm holes.

Yay for not making mustard gas. I confess I read all of my products careful to ensure I am not mixing anything harmful. The dish soap which is the Palmolive antibacterial I use for my still air box does not contain a form of ammonia. However I found out that regular Palmolive does. I will never tell people to mix a few drops of bleach into their dish soap again because I don't want anyone to get hurt. It's a good thing I looked up the dish soap before making a bleach and dish soap mixture for mopping so that I never buy regular Palmolive and assume it's fine because the antibacterial is fine.

I use that same soap. The orange one. It smells good. I used to use it for my SAB when I still sprayed

I have kinda developed my own ghetto way of making spore syringes lol, take a regular 10ml syringe and do the whole aspirate boiling water 5 times and cool to room temp, take a petri dish from a sterile sleeve and scrape spores from a print using a swab end or flame sterilized scalpel into the dish, then aspirate and use

If your prints has some age, it may help to let them sit in the syringe a few minutes to rehydrate them.

I confess that even though I have a 50 pound bag of oats I’m tempted to pick up a 25 pound bag of WBS at the sale price of $9.99!
Maybe 2...

I would, good wbs is expensive here, the regular stuff is full of corn and sunflower seeds.

You dont mix bleach with other cleaners(dish soap or not) its common sense! People die doing that and it says on the label.
That blows me away. Why would anyone spray a sab with bleach anyway??
Use liquid clothing detergent to mop floors its what we used at paris island. Works unbelievably well.

So I figured out I was making grain too dry for the last 2 months. At least I hope that's the problem because I've opened and injected pc'ed water into a couple dozen jars. Probably a terrible idea but they all seemed stalled and dry.

How you prep your grain? I find it easier to over hydrate than under, at least in my personal experience its been that way.

I had been soaking for 18 hours, draining and pcing. It was ok for wbs but I switched to oats. Oats need longer I guess. I thought I had ruined a batch forgetting it for over 24 hours, but my king oysters colonized that batch in record speed.
24-30 hours cold soak equals the hydration of about a 15 minute boil according to the prep experiments I've done this week. I've labeled jars with boiled, soaked, and instapotted. Sterilized, Loaded all 3 with spawn from colonized jars and now I wait.
While I'm waiting I'm stocking up on new flats of jars and some of those pp5 lids. I've got to expand those outdoor projects.

With my oats I bring water to a hard rolling boil. Shut off and dump oats in. Set timer for 20-25 min. Dump and let them steam dry for 30+ min, load and PC.

Based on your personal experience. How much stronger would you say ape is?

It takes an 8th to 5g of cubes to give me tactile distortions.
Less than a gram in a tea of ape does the same.
Its almost not the same shroom. Its that good

Uhhh. I usually don't mix stuff with bleach. I only use a few drops in my spray bottle to keep the bottle fresh. I did read the bottle. And this one doesn't say don't mix with bleach because it can be mixed with bleach. I know you aren't supposed to mix most stuff with bleach. I double checked just to make sure before I mixed a big bucket of it with bleach. I don't have any other disinfectants and this floor was disgustingly filthy in my basement and needed it. Like I mean really disgusting. It's all shiny and clean now and I can just do maintenance washes with lighter stuff now. You just can't do it with th non antibacterial ones that are ammonia based. Also I never mix rando household cleaners.
