I confess that I cracked the laminate counter from running the pc too high in the back burner. My housemate was not happy. Tomorrow morning I will be buying a propane burner to run in the back yard. Sucks because it rains often here but gotta keep the housemate happy esp since he knows what Iβm doing with the PC. Mostly running edibles but have some βotherβ projects for fun. I need to get my own place, ... never wanna live with other people again, but for all its other benefits being self employed makes it difficult to find a rental sometimes.

Much more of a hard lesson than an experiment, but I confess that I accidentally let my PC run dry, and warped the bottom slightly.
What did I learn from this? I learned that 3 quarts of water - as specified by the Presto 01781 operating manual - lasts for just a little more than 90 minutes at 15psi. I was going to PC my jars for 120 minutes, so I blew past the margin of error.
Won't do that again.

If you adjust your temp just right, you wont run out, but will maintain pressure. I found this easier when I added extra weight. Yes it is safe to add a little extra weight.

My presto uses up about one liter in 2h. I added three small coins on top of the weightand now it floats on a steady 17.5 PSI and runs very quiet. I am also able to reduce heat further and still keep pressure. Altho I notice that itΒ΄s been using a bit more and more water lately. I guess thatΒ΄s just what happens when you run many cycles in one month

It's probably the seal starting to warp. Do you keep it tight when not in use?

I also think I need to do some scrubbing cause the lid is starting to scrape when I go to lock it in place, too much minerals and shit from the water I suppose, I believe the seal is full of minerals as well. Does anyone what is good to wash away burned minerals with?

I confess ....
I wont answer the phone when my parents call to wrap me up in whatever dumbshit they do, while on shrooms.
No child should have to ruthlessly psycho analyze and 'correct' the completely unacceptable horse shittery of the parental units, while on shrooms.
i wont do that again...
Fuckin baby boomers.

It's pretty easy to maintain the gasket. Just wash with gentle dish detergent and a gentle scrubber. Make sure to do it before each use. One of those ones that don't leave scratches. Still looks like new. I do the same thing with the whole pot and always make sure everything is open and clear before I run it. It's also helpful to add a cup of vinegar each time. I'm wondering if putting a penny on my T-Fal cooker would solve the issue of running slightly under 15. It's never been a big deal but it's worth a shot. I just looked at the current price of my cooker and can't believe I got it for the price I did before.

I Confess. I hate the sound my aa921 makes when it lets off steam. My old presto would vent in a cadence. This basrard is all Willy nilly. I put a chip clip on the weight to keep it at pressure so it's not annoying!

"I WON"T DO THAT AGAIN!!!"
Well a little over a year ago I cam back into this hobby after like 10 years. I had forgotten a lot as well as remembered old as fuck and outdated things. Well I built an actually glove box, sealed up. I had alcohol in there and used a lighter. It had been fine the first few times, I guess this time there was enough fumes for ignition. In the blink of an eye I watched everything ignite, tub and lid blew apart. Paper towels were on fire and my arms were stuck in the gloves, attached to the tub. Yea I got it under control and didn't burn the house down, but that will NEVER be done again. I learned lessons about thinking everything through. Don't blow yourselves up guys, lol.

I won't do that again!
Bout 6 months back I was pc'n some woodchip and sawdust bags for some LM and oysters. And had a few beers or 8 not sure but anyways I passed out on my couch only to wake up 3 hours later with my house smelling of forest fire and burnt rubber. So I jump the fuck up run to the kitchen and turn off the burnet, I wait for it to cool, open up the PC and.... BAM fucking all the water evaporated and there were 3 black balls of melted spawn bags and charred woodchips. Oh and my seal melted.
I don't drink and PC anymore

Wow you guys are dangerous. I can't really enter this contest because my shenanigans only involves basic boring mistakes with contaminants. Luckily I have a decent science and vocational background so I didn't have to make any of the dangerous mistakes. Although I'm not going to lie while not as epic as those I put 91 percent alcohol which I keep around for adhesive removal in the bottle instead of 70 and flash flamed my glove. I stuck my hand in the toilet because it was the only open water source near me. I work out of my linen closet. I'm sure I didn't need to do that though because it probably would have stopped once the alcohol burned up but your not thinking when you see fire. Makes me glad that I may be messy but at least I clean my toilet on the weekly. I'm trying to think of a good entry but I've been pretty good about stuff. Maybe you guys can think of one for me.
