First time I tried PF tek was with drinking glasses covered with aluminum foil and Saran wrap and a rubber band for both, sterilized in a pc. The spore solution I made from a print, scraped off spores with a pre heated and cooled kitchen knife into a glass bowl and loose lid that I cooked and let cool in the microwave. All open air with moldy week-or-so-old dishes. Raise lid, syringe in, swirl around, suck up, jam through saran or aluminum foil, and tape closed with micropore tape. I call it the contam tek :p Epic failing guaranteed!

Oh and I once harvested about a kilo of chaga and was pressure cooking it to extract. 3 subsequent extractions later, I had cooked in the liquid from the first 2, had the first extract in a big ass glass jar, second extract was in a pot cooling off. After cooking in batch 3 only just as much as needed to fill the jar to the top without extract 2 (it was getting late and I thought I would cook it further in the next day) I took the jar out the fridge and because it was getting VERY late I got in such a retard state I just poured the just done boiling 3rd extract (twice the amount of what was in the jar from the fridge) right in the cold jar. It cracked, and my whole kitchen countertop, sink, floor and wall, cabinets, you name it, even the ceiling had spots, was coloured as brown as dark chocolate. And my pants. After it cracked I didn't even stop pouring, I just poured the last 100ml or so right in the jar. Or what was left of it... I didn't even get angry, I just felt beyond empty.. and then I started cleaning it up. Biggest mess ever!

And I once fell asleep at the end of an Ayahuasca batch. 3 big pots cooking in and 2 out of 3 were burnt dry to the bottom. Big batch too...

it will be fine as long as you let the jar warm up first.. if your plates are chilled they will likely do the same thing

Talking of burning ayahuasca stuff, last time I got stoned I forgot I'd got some syrian rue tea reducing down in a pan. After an hour or so I noticed a burning smell but my stoned brain assumed my neighbour had made toast. It wasn't till smoke started curling round the door that I remembered I'd left the tea reducing. It smelled vile and I'd wasted so much rue, cleaning the pan was a chore as well cus it'd all burnt on for so much time.

I know, letting the extract cool would be my option, and my plates are never chilled :p but pouring them boiling hot would have them melting I think...

I like how when I turn my pressure cooker off late at night I can hear the water boiling and gently rocking the jars inside for about an hour or so while it slowly cools down Ahhhh...

I normally feel like I have so much mush work to do, that I don't want to think about or do any of it.
But naturally, I do it all because it's all I REALLY think about.

When you used your SAB for the first time. It's completely sealed so it's pressurized. Used rubbing alcohol and Lysol then proceeded to flame sterilize in the SAB. BOOM, lost half an eye brow and blew my SAB up.
I also broke my pressure cooker by it falling last night... wrote a thread about it but didn't really help the pain

A SAB shouldn't be totally sealed.
Its a tote with two enough holes to fit your hands, no more no less.

What's wrong with having it sealed? Here I just took pictures. I literally sterilize the whole room plus the box. It greatly reduces contamination. Air flow is a large cause of contamination
The gloves are sealed onto the rubber entries. Everything's sealed with clear epoxy. The top has a foam 1 inch thick lining the edge with 4 clamps around the edge. It's hard to get hands in the gloves cause of the suction.

Literally everything I do from spores->agar to LI->grain to spawning to bulk is so much slower than what people post on here.
Is it just because my house is cold and uninsulated?
