Cultures are the way to go. Or cloning from fruit (from the grocery store or farmers market). I'd be interested in spores as well but only because it's pretty expensive to send a single petri dish. It's only worth sending cultures if you are sending a big pack with many dishes or tubes.
I'd like to try sending teaspoons of spawn in packages similar to spore prints I'm not sure it would work well but it would be about 1/8th the price of sending a plate.

I managed to get a Blue Oyster spore print from a vendor, and well have only grown mold from it. I say get a culture if you can.

Next time I expand spawn I'll make up some spawn samplers for a give-away. (Probably monday) I have king oyster, black poplar, lions main, hen of the woods, and reishi fully colonized on grain.
I'll post something in marketplace when ive got something ready to mail. (Feel free to drop me a note ahead of the market place giveaway if you want to try growing from a spawn culture)

The tiny micro centrifuge tubes work good for sending out wedges. Hell you could even drop a few colonized grains in with sterile tweezers. They are also light weight and cheap.

I need to go spawn 6 QT's each to their own shoebox, as well as deal with 18 pint sized cakes that need birthed. Problem is I feel like shit and have little motivation. I am thinking I might just fruit the cakes in the jar and top case. Less work to maintain. Hell the MS ones I did like that gave me like 7g dry each. This clone might do more like 10-14.

I've got centrifuge tubes, but they are too thick to sneak in as letter mail. Costs me 8 bucks to ship a single centrifuge vial 1.3bucks to send a letter. If I'm sending a half dozen or a dozen centrifuge tubes it's still 8 bucks up to 500 grams.

Ouch! Yea that makes sense unless your sending several cultures to a single person. I also didn't realize you were in Canada, as I have shipped bubble mailers for far less here.

I always put my centrifuge tubes in normal letter mail and I have yet to have one not show up
There is always a little bulge but it still makes it.

Fuck all that, sterilize a couple squares of cardboard transfer a wedge to one and sandwich the other one on top and slide into a baggie.

I confess I've been literally playing with fire lately and I'm amazed by the results. I'll be divulging more in the future when further testing has been done.

Hey man that's awesome! I just started spinning poi about 4 months ago and I spun fire once and really loved it. I love flow arts and all these amazing festivals and music. EDM like psytrance, medium-tempo basstrance and good trap music has really changed how I think and act. It has cured my severe depression and paranoid schizophrenia and I'm gonna start making it. I Just bought a launchpad pro and I have a good mac, the main thing that's stopping me is I don't have a full version of Ableton live 9 and can't afford a $600 software program just to get started! I'm using the trial version right now and know for sure now that this is the program I want....

So I'm happy with this shoebox and my method. It's time to do four small shoeboxes. Unfortunately they sold out of the large shoeboxes and I only have little 6 quart ones. I think the other shoe boxes I was using were at least 12 quart or something and only 3 dollars so I miss them. They need to get them back because they are my favorite size.

That's cool, I swear I learn something new everyday on the shroomery. I didn't know it was called poi, I thought that was a Hawaiian dessert.
