Then you need PP5 containers or small glass jars, glass petri's can't hold thz agar during the PC boil and cooldown. It'll just boil out of the dish leaving you with one big mess. I'd say go for disposable, buy 10 sleeves at once and then practice with those. If you watch some pouring video's, then work up the muster to do a sleeve, then do about 200 plates in 30 days, pouring every 3 days. I bet you'll be comfortable after that. But hey, that's just me...
Decent PP5's are expensive where I live, and flimsy ones aren't worth it imho. Others might have US based links for PP5's..? I know the Glad mini rounds work.

Yes that is what im saying. Glass petris are still poured just like plastic. If you try to pc glass petris with agar in them youll have boil over and a huge mess.
Try to find some small jars and use them if you still wanna do no pour

I confess these weird rando PESA shrooms happned in the bin I keep forgetting to clean out. I went away for a few days and then came home and cleaned my litter box in the basement and there they were. I'm not even going to show you the inside of the container for fear someone might vomit.
So now I have two broken dehydrators because I wasn't expecting shrooms yet and I might have to go old school. Still debating whether or not I'd want to eat them though after looking at the hell they sprung from.

Only thing that sucks is I'm stuck fan drying them old school style. I'm going to exchange my dehydrator tomorrow before these other guys start popping up.I have no idea how they survived in that bin. It's pretty cold in there too. And yes they are dense. Miracle Christmas shrooms! Thanks Santa. Just what I always wanted.

Holy shit. I'm coming home to all kinds of MYCO presents. The small TOC bag I made is pinning and my KSSS jars are recovering nicely. I think I might need a little more moisture in my grains next time. They are a bit on the dry side.
Also the best present of all is this wild oyster clone. The piece of tissue I dropped in started growing oyster pins on it. I have never seen anything like it. I thought I was seeing things or maybe it had some weird infection that came in with the nature. But nope. Real live legitimate pins in only a matter of days. I knew these oysters were special when I found them. They just kept growing and have been feeding me most of the winter.
And yes. There will be pics. My phone is just dead right now.

Haven't you broken more than 2 dehydrators since before? lol
You have officially broken to many dehydrators to be asking for advice, you should only be giving advice after you break your third dehydrator

Well they broke themselves. One was old and the other one was a brand with a history of faulty thermal fuses. I need to exchange the one that's still able to be exchanged and I should be good. I got the ones I have now under a strong air circulator so they should be find.

Like it at the end, just to get to that CRACKER dry point. Weight of dosing means shit when it's not consistently cracker dry, stomach issues and nausea are less of a problem for those who have it, after having had the heat treatment, and after all, no mushroom is meant to be eaten raw. Not even regular buttons. All mushrooms need a cooking to be healthy.

I confess I'm feeling a little annoyed by the fact that I'll have to wait another good month until I get to buy myself an AA...
I also confess I'm probably spoiled to the point of no return. Just bought a second hood, an Osterizer and new blades, some media bottles and Eppendorf tubes, and still, it's not enough...
And yet, somehow I still believe that after buying the AA, converting parts and a burner, it WILL be enough. But then there's that little voice inside me that goes like "Well... A big AA is good for grains... But a small one to go along with it is great for agar and tools..."
And then there is also the shortage in tubs I'll need to address soon, and the solid spear scalpel I've been wanting for about a year...
And I know I'll be wanting a microscope around next fall to use in determinations...
If anyone has that solid spear scalpel and is tired of using it, maybe we can work something out?

That's to funny, maybe I've just gotten lucky over the decades of drying them out. I've never had a problem getting them "cracker dry" without a dehydrator. I guess if you have a humid house it could be a problem.

Well, I got them crackingly dry without a dehydrator, but still not as rigidly cracker hard dry like in an opened oven. I don't own a dehydrator so the oven is fine for now

Ive done it too. The results were such a huge mixed bag in terms of potency.
It just really seems, through my limited jawn, that after i started using a dehydrator my shrooms seemed better. That was around 06. Way before i did any agar work. And i strictly grew off brf cakes spawned to microwaved coco.

Has anyone done a side by side comparison from the same flush to see if there’s any potency loss between drying techniques? If so then how many times was the same test duplicated?
