Yes they do. I've seen em colonize a whole plate in about a day - a day and a half. 2 inch plates.

I've watch pin mold colonize a jar in almost a few days. That shit is crazy. They actually use a certain species of it to make tempeh.
And that's what I've been telling you, if it was from the agar that shit is so fast that I would have seen it whether it's sporulating or not. It's happening somewhere after the sterilization part because I've checked my PC a few times with indicators and it runs great. Grains have been good so far. Everything else is growing. So I'm down to the last thing. I just did a proper oven pasteurization because it's easier for me than the other methods and easier to check temps and my stoves electric and has it's own internal thermometer which matches up with the external thermometer I bought for my oven (sin I'm a pretty decent baker with a useless degree) plus a meat thermometer inserted into the substrate mix. You really can't fuck that up. Also I reduce the amount of time I keep the bin open mixing stuff. I'm just going through all my potential vectors and eliminating things. I started storing open coir blocks in sealed plastic to discourage dust and spores from landing on it. Now I just need to clean my room cause it's actually getting a bit out of hand.
So today I have some pretty fucking amazing bags of oysters and lions mane. Just looking at them makes my mouth water. Damn it. I have a large shoebox and a 64 oz bottle of Escondidos and a bag of TOC's. I got the TOC from a few of the jars I still have to PC and dum. It started growing shrooms it was there so long and I had extra coir. I was like fuck it if I put it in the bag and it turns I can just throw away the bag. It wasn't moldy. I was just worried because all the other ones were infected.
But anyways I've had a lot of coffee and I've lost all sense of brevity. Nothing has pin mold in it. It usually starts by now so I'm pretty optimistic.
As for not listening to just anyone it comes from my unique circumstances. I was told for years by the "Experts" that there was nothing wrong with me. I only got diagnosed this year after so much damage had been done to my body and I had developed severe depression and my self estee, was shattered. Because I thought I was well and it was in my head and that I should be able to do what everyone else does and the fact that I couldn't amounted to being a shitty lazy person. So yes I will question things and be stubborn till the day I die.

Wait up. You used the new agar recipe that germinate s mold from your old culture and now theres no mold?
Doesnt that mean the mold originated from the cultivator and not the culture?
Sorry to hear about your health i have my own fucked up stomach that can potentially kill me if it got bad ebough or remove a large section of stomach.
But that doesn't matter. What matters is clean spawn.

No. I haven't tried the new agar yet. But I closely monitor my cultures and haven't seen anything growing unusually fast. So it most likely came after the agar. But I still need to make sure. I'm taking a break fro a few days I think. I'll start new agar dishes then after I PC all the old ones and dispose of them. After doing a lot of research on the different types of organisms that could potentially grow in my petri dishes some of which can be human pathogens I'm not taking any risks anymore.

Still no pin mold. I'm pretty sure I'm out of the water. Yesterday would have been about when I would have started seeing it. And I'm harvesting my first giant cluster of oysters tonight and I fixed the RH issue with my lions mane. It's amazing what you can do with an old vinyl shower curtain and a few plastic trash bags. I confess I'm not miserable about my work for the first time in a long time I'm excited.

I confess I'm just a wee bit excited about this thread turning 500!
I wonder what sort of spontaneous celebration may erupt?
Will people start confessing really embarrassing stuff? Will everyone go WAY WAY off topic as they are want to do? Will erry budy send Psilo a spore print? Will TBC confess to having a rock hard myco boner for MushroomTherapy? Will PsiloPsychIn finally confess to being a crafty DEA agent?
Will the core crew come up with Confessions Turns 500 celebration ideas of their own?

I don't know about that, but I do confess I just splurged and got sporeworks stocking stuffer deal. I don't buy spores often, but for that deal I'll make an exception. Can't wait to see what all they throw in.

Joking... I'm good. No need for spores over in PsiloLandia
I have so many unused / never tried prints that I confess that I had the idea that once I start growing again I would make it a plan to grow out a new strain each month until I ran out of varieties... probably two years or more!

I confess that this is my favorite cannabis photo ever (agent orange with fall colors on) ... I guess it is myco related because the cannabis and mushies share a grow space sometimes.

Hah. Everything I have colonizing right now is from psilo. I have a few things from Hamloaf on agar. And a few that came from other members. But my collection is primarily made up of Psilo and Hamloaf prints.

I confess I almost spit ice cream on my keyboard because some guy was trying to impress me on facebook. He told me he uses a metal hay light for his oysters to get them darker. I didn't have the heart to correct him. I was like oh nice. I feel kind of mean for laughing.

I'm working on a decent confession. Should be ready within a week or so. It has to do with the lengths amateur cultivators go to for a sterile workplace

I confess I've been bogged down by real life + the grind of mycology to actually do anything to break the monotony. I've expanded almost all of my pint masters of my last APE clones so I should be free to make the plates I owe people. Have about 15 PMs blinking at me as well. Finally got some plates made so I'm hoping to send people shit and start a few new grows from my 3 year old syringes, if possible.

I confess that before any sterile work I do, I get scared. especially if I take the advice of some old Shroomery grower and have a smoke beforehand (I'm an addict, so you know... any excuse) I get scared that every drop of air is riddled with bacteria, that spores become sentient and propel themselves into my jars, that my hands radiate contaminationm and that I breath out pure death
but fuck, you just got to do it eh? time to crack on! good work today folks
