I got mine at target I wanted to get a few totes for monos but they didn't have much of a selection and what they did have were mostly green or red so I just grabbed some shoeboxes and plan on going to walmart tomorrow anyway so I will get some there. I am trying to get away from using a SGFC I love it and it works great for cakes but I want to move to bulk grows so hopefully I will have some luck with monos and shoeboxes.

I think youβll do great. I transitioned to shoeboxes from the shotgun, got a couple monos in the closet waiting to be used for the first time but I love the ease and reliability of shoeboxes. Some people say they are more difficult to dial in but Iβve found the opposite to be true. No messing with polyfill or tape or drilling holes. I am a little biased as Iβm sure when I get my first half pound flush in a mono I may be changing my tune but I will always have faith in the trusty shoebox

Clear lids?!! I confess I'm so jealous, I've never seen those. I think that with Clear lids you might be able to help get a pin set started before exposing to too much FAE. I do appreciate that FAE is a trigger to pin (but so is light) and keeping the FAE to the minimum needed to help a pin set get started helps keep that small (shoebox) substrate from losing hydration prematurely.
Are those shoeboxes Sterilites?

Yay!
I confess I'm nervous about making these new jars. I'm staring at the unopened PC still like. Should I do it. I mean it's not like it's going to change anything if I wait till tomorrow. Sigh. And I'm pretty damn sure the jars are clean since I dropped a PC indicator in. Still have a few of the little glass ones. Just so everyone knows that's not where the issue is. Now step two. Dropping that plate like it's hot.

I confess the mini shoeboxes really start to add up. I tried a monotub my first attempt it didn't go well.

Since then I discovered tiny shoeboxes I'm just going to fruit and print these six then take a break.
I enjoy sending prints around the world, but I need that space for more lions mane.

TheMadHatter420 said: I have a GREAT myco confession that could inspire/help others out.
So my fruiting area is in my basement and with it being winter it has been a STRUGLE to keep it warm, like a struggle to stay above 60f, and barely at that! So the furnace is about 5 feet from my fruiting area. It is a room I started building but due to $$ am waiting for a bit to continue. It is a partially framed up room with tarps and plastic up to help hold heat in. WELL anyways, I notice 2 unused 6 inch outlets(duct outlets) on the far side of my furnace. It just so happens that I had about 20 feet of 6 inch flex duct and a 110CFM inline fan, from my weed days. I have taken the cap OFF of the outlet and hooked the flex duct up to it and am using the fan to boost the air flow. Because I have the fan just plugged in and on all the time there is a steady, constant flow of warm air into the area. When the furnace kicks on it gets even warmer. The area is now between 72-76f, instead of 60-62f.
This was able to be done with NO permanent modifications to the home, I own but this would work great for renters. I had the supplies around but that flex duct is cheap, and can be found at Home Depot. Some furnaces may use 8inch, which home improvement stores sell also. They also sell inline fans that are made for boosting airflow in long duct runs. They are relatively cheap. I am sharing this as it is EASILY a non permanent way to heat a grow area, fan may not be needed, and cheap, I think like $30-50. Considering the cost of purchasing a good electric heater and cost of running it vs pulling heat from your all ready running furnace.
In short, if your having problems keeping your area warm enough in winter, check your furnace for an unused outlet that you can tie into and run cheap flex duct to your area.
I confess I've been having nightmares that you're piping carbon monoxide into your grow room. Sorry to fuss probably for no reason. Is the outlet supposed to vent outside? Or is it definitely an OK/safe thing to do?

Better to fuss for no reason in this case imho.
Sounds like a dangerous thing you're doing there, and what's worse, you're even advising it for others to do the same "real cheap n easy, good way to"...
Kill yourself??
I like you MadHatter, and I know you know that, so I'll be so blunt to openly call you an idiot for this one. Not that your situation CAN'T be safe, but more that another's might not. And there's people stupid enough to kill themselves without our help, so why would we...

I confess I'm super fascinated with this oyster clusterfuck. Never seen one so heavy. I am so psyched. I made a makeshift humidity tent to keep the heater and hepa from drying everything out so I could open the bags up more. It lets air in through the back, top and bottom. I stuck my head in just now to see if it was working and it feels moist and cool inside so I'd say that's a yes. very refreshing actually.
I'm also hoping this new light makes my blue oysters more blue. They were on the light grey side last time.

I confess I thought a piece of polyfil that fell off my filter during a shake was a pin mold for about a week. As soon I shook the jar I realized what it was and spawned it.
I also confess I just ordered 2 secondhand 24βx48β laminar flow hoods off ebay, hope theyβre quality! Shipping was same for 2 as 1 and price was to good to pass up.

So I guess I'm oven pasteurizing my next batch of sub to see if that helps. I opened up the pan I used for coir last time. I forgot to remove a small clump of coir and left the lid on. Inside was pin mold. It doesn't full rule out bad spawn. But I do believe the issue wasn't my spawn. this is the second time I've left covered coir and found pin mold on it. Making some sub now for a shoebox for these Escondido multispore jars now.
