It doesn't seem like it was the spawn. I think the problem is outside the SAB this time. The spawn I had was definitely clean. Also none of my cultures contaminated with it. Fuck. I'll just try again.
My L. Nuda is doing well at least. The mycelium does look sort of purple. It's pretty neat.

I confess a few days ago I knocked a plate off my desk, after I had just bleached the floor. I thought it might be ok as the lid popped off but the room was super clean. The plate stayed right side up....

I confess, patience has been the most challenging part of mycology for me.

Seriously though. I can grow every other fucking thing but just not cubes lately. Now that I know the issue is outside the SAB I can work on that. Maybe if I clear up the spore load a bit in my grow room and make a higher spawn to coir ratio. I accidentally added a little too much sub and had to spread it out t three containers. I'll get this right damn it. I'm determined.

You only need to concentrate your efforts on clean spawn, there's no issue with your coir being still warm when spawning (I do it every time), no issue with the spawn ratio and nothing to do with the spore load in your grow room. You can literaly spawn tubs in the worst mold infected place and all will be ok if the spawn was clean.

How is it outside the SAB? Thats the only place that needs sterility. Its always the source.
Sporeloads is a load imo.

Pretty sure one of the TCβs here posted a impromptu grow this year that was like 1:20 spawn ratio and fruited strongly.
I have my tubs just feet away from a fish tank that has apparently had mold growing on the lid, didnβt think it had to be cleaned but the water that accumulates must have enough nutrient to support growth. All my tubs are on/close to the carpeted floor of a 20+ year old place and I have two dogs. None of that has caused a problem.
Itβs your grain prep, culture, or technique when transferring the culture to grains. Build a real SAB that goes on a table and not a closet and compare results.

It's a bit hard to make a video in the space I have. I can show you my grains though. Let me make a video of that at least.

If I had this kind of problem with contamination I would post a video as well. I went out yesterday and bought some extra scalpels so that I donΒ΄t have to flame sterilize them between inoculation of LI. Often the agar puck that IΒ΄m trying to pick up with the blade is often times soft or big and has to be scooped all the way up to where the handle of the scalpel starts. After iΒ΄m done with transferring an agar puck to a jar, I I pull out another sterilized scalpel to work on the next agar puck and next jar. You canΒ΄t flame sterilize anything on the scalpel except the blade, so why risk it and continue to work with a scalpel that has dirty parts that canΒ΄t be sterilized. Every little vector counts.
Preferably you want to work with only the tip of the scalpel, but sometimes you have to dig and it feels good to know that EVERY part of my scalpel is 100% fresh out of the PC sterilized and I can use it however I want, when im done with that one I pull out another one. Dont need an alcohol lamp or a burner for small jobs.

TBC when is the last time you pressure cooked grains and left 1 jar untouched as a control? That would at least rule out your pc cycle and you know it's you fucking up.

I did this alot when I first got back into mush cult, for cakes, no pours, grain jars, and petris. Reassurance is good.
