I'm going to give it a shot. I've read mixed results regarding frozen syringes being used. Worst thing that happens is I waste some plates, but its worth a shot. The reason I was getting it out to begin with was because I got no germination on the first set of ape plates. On a brighter note my sterile technique is still on point after taking time off. The first round of plates have been sitting a few weeks and are still clean.

Sure. Just turn that fridge dial back up, plug in a lava lamp, and maybe throw on a little Barry White and it'll put out.
But no, I think those are toast. Cubes are a tropical species and I don't think they can be frozen.

I think if it hasn't been frozen for long, and not too cold, it MIGHT still put out, if you toss in the entire syringe. Middle of syringe might not have been frozen in that case

I went in today to grab my ape syringe and its fucking frozen. Didn't check the fridge temp dial and it was cranked full blast when I got it. At least I know it works
It'll be fine.

Shit, I stand corrected. I guess better late than never (nearly 7 years after you, lol). Guess that syringe might be fine. Going to mess with slants I thought my fridge killed recently!

Yeah I figure it can't hurt. Only loss would be a few plates. I have a ape swab if the syringe turns out to be a bust. Decided to throw some aa+ ms from a syringe on while I mess around with the ape.

That's the way this cookie crumbles, brother. Make a list of all that needs to be done, prioritize, and start knocking things out one step at a time. Try not to focus on everything all at once only the task you are working on until it's done then move onto the next.

I used some spores that froze and they germinated and worked out just fine.

That's great advice. Sometimes you can get too focused on one aspect of Mycology and neglect time and space management- or you can just be so passionate that that's what you want to do with every spare bit of your time and produce beyond your means. I've run into that issue more times than I'd like to confess over the years. Timing things more in line with the mushrooms life cycle and how much space, cold storage, and ability to expand is really key to keeping a good flow and making sure you aren't wasting material or killing your babies.
