The spent sub is for the blewits not the cubes.
All this talk of larvae makes me glad I put the blocks outside earlier tonight. Fucking fungal gnats. I have to stop bringing home strange fungus. It's just all so weird and I want to know what it is. Like the smelly orange ones that I found out were mock oysters. Really cool but smelly and tastes awful when you take a nibble and spit it out.
take pics outside, soak in water outside then you should be fine to take it inside

True confession: my wild clones never work so I do all my mushroom hunting for clones at the grocery store now.
Wild harvested ones are for cooking, they just turn to translucent yeast factories on my petris.

I confess, as much as I love cultivating and everything that I have learned since march. I have come so far and now have a better understanding of mycology. I hope to take this knowledge with me into the future. As for now I think I will be retiring from mycology. I plan To retire until I own my own property. I have to much going for me to risk losing all of that for mushrooms. Since I rent my property I have lived with a paranoia in the back of my mind about them finding my grow. Even though I keep everything hidden from the naked eye, there is always that "what if". So this is why I think it is best to retire my hobby until I am a property owner. I've got about 30 fully colonized jars of mycelium that I'm not sure what to do with. And one last minimono pinning...any suggestions on what to do with the jars?

It takes a bit of finesse to get clean cultures. So far I have made a successful ganoderma sessile and Fomitopsis betulina. However I didn't get the f. betulina out of the jar because no one has had much success cultivating it and I never had the time to mess around with it.
I'm hoping my blewit lasts in the fridge till Monday. I didn't get to it yet. Been fucking tired and now I have to go away till Sunday tonight.

I confess i started this a year ago as a side hobbie. It quickly spun out of control..monos everywhere 100 jars. This was suppose to be a hobbie damn it. 20 jars pc today...2 shoe boxes..2 mini monos. Today it felt like work...before i had to go into work. Even with all that said when you see a tub full of pins it so seems worth it..

I don't either, I just genuinely thought it was 1 g, and his buddy had 3,5g. But maybe he had 3,5 and his buddy even more.. I don't think it's lame or anything either, shit like that is scary as hell and it can turn your life upside down for real.
Hope you're feeling alright MT!

yeah it was 3.5 grams and my buddy took 4.5 also, my old landlord would come by every now and then but they sold the property to a big company and the new managers never come by. nothing really happened, ive always sorta had this concern in the back of my head and after last sunday where i felt like i dodged a bullet i decided it wasnt worth the risk. My mom is in the middle handing down her company to me and i know if i ever got caught i would lose everything that ive worked for, so i think its smartest to just play it safe and cultivate when i own my own property.

as long as you aren't worried about cops at your door within the next 3 months then I would just fruit what you have and keep a stash of fruits. if having them laying around sketches you out you can always capsule them and put them in vitamin bottles. just make sure they don't get taken by the wrong person

Yeah I picked a flush this morning from two shoeboxes then dumped them. And I have one last mini mono waiting to pin. N I'm not too worried about anyone finding my stash. Although I have considered putting them in Vitamin capsules for transportation purposes.
