yeah I think I'm gonna try a reishi grow, I harvest them wild around here all through the summer for a supplement.
Made tea with a friend once and proceeded to take shots of jim beam, well it was the darkest trip I've had to date. Thought I was becoming my dad whom I don't see eye to eye with and ended up kicking my friend out of the house because I thought he was purposely bringing hoards of mosquito's inside and hiding from me, then laid in bed and cringed under the covers for hours as I imagined a huge thunderstorm that never happened. Twas a weird night.
fuck alcohol.

Yeah, it sounded like a good idea at the time. It wasn't the best trip I've had but it wasn't the worst either. I just sat out side with my dogs and looked at the stars.

I have never seen the appeal of alcohol. There's more than a few alcoholics in my family but it's one thing I have never got pleasure from. I will drink jack and coke at a concert now and then but other than that it's not my thing lol

except I was a heavy drinker about 6 years ago but it lost it's appeal very quickly.
just don't see how it can really get a hold of people being so unsatisfactory but I see it in my friends and family ALL AROUND ME.
I think my psych use has made that clear and has made my body aqnd mind reject it more than ever.

I confess it's great to be back. took a break from the boards to get better at cultivation but it's a lot easier to learn when I can ask for feedback. I'm angry at meself because I've been doing this too long to have such a shitty track record...

I hear you on that one.. My first 2-3 grows over a year ago were successful with spore LC and what not (noob shit), now that I work with agar I can't get my tubs to pin... And it's been like this for a few months now. Hopefully it will bounce back soon.

I can grow enough to satisfy me but I'm done dicking around. I want to treat them like food. I want consistency. I want a grain jar clean enough to trust as a master. yet I don't know how to tell if the problem is my grain prep or my water source.

My money is its your sterilization time. It might come in on your grain or your water or both, but it should have been killed by your process.
Assuming you grow nice clean petri dishes, and your filters are good and there's not a huge temp swing daily where they colonize, and also assuming you have Immortal technique, must be the cook time.

I cook all my grains for atleast 2 hours. I stumbled upon this last month and mesaaged grainbrain and he said it wouldn't matter even post sterilization. I think it's more likely my grain prep than PC times

PC times > grain prep. Your sterile technique is probably to blame, as well.

I feel like I would see it in my agar work if it were my sterile technique. I think my well water has too much iron and sulfur for myc to thrive. idk, maybe I'm making excuses but this needs it's own thread

I think you are making excuses. It's ok, it happens all the time. I vote your own thread is in order as well. Should be a good one.
