Fair point, but ive also seen thick rhizos on clean ass agar plates & grain jars. It could be a combo of genetics and potential contamns. Sometimes its just genetics others its contamns

Basically it is when the mycelium needs to travel some distance.

Guys, why is there rizo growth on highly nutritious media? Or I should ask, why do growers stress that highly nutritious media promotes tomentose growth and low nutrients promote rizo?

What is the exact relationship between these two?

This looks more like avoidance of contam.  It’s also got a bit of that melted ice cream-look in the middle.  Would also explain why they won’t shake...

That's one of the things that's been repeated here over the years and people love to be parrots, that's why.
In the pic, rhizos are probably  being caused by the presence of bacteria.

Well I was knocking up 6 jars last night with agar wedges of three different varietys.  Pesa, orrisa India & penis envy 6

( now mind you id been in the sab for a while with a face mask on sweating my ass off transferring wedges to 6 new plates)  when I was putting the 6 masters away 2 jars of each variety, I noticed they were all done with the exception of one orrisa India.  The other was done twice:facepalm:
Fuck Me!

Pretty much.  I think it's the latter when it pauses/stalls then changes mode and becomes much more pronounced.  Hard to tell with a single pic.  And usually why people say to break it up and redistribute at that point.

Wbs is always a bit tougher to break up but it shouldn't NOT break up. If those jars aren't breaking up then I'd start over. The mycelium is definitely competing with something in there

They didn't break up the minute they were out of the PC.. they were a tiny bit too wet i was told.. but there is no standing water or anything like that.. was told to let them run.. i haven't seen any weird colors or anything yet. so will wait.

a detailed analysis and assessment of something, especially a literary, philosophical, or political theory.

Notice I never said Germs was wrong or he shouldn't.
I simply said hey, I think Stamets recommends cooling in the transfer to dish.
And then I pointed out how I think his stuff looks good....

IMO critiquing would involve telling Germs he was doing something wrong.

It was just an idea from something I read. IMO sharing ideas is part of raising the bar. It wasn't suppose to be anything personal or something to suggest I have a superior process. If you think it's dumb and have success w/o cooling your blade then do what works for you.

Be nice mike o voidenski everyone fks up spelling something at one time or another.

No worries, I love everybody here too.

I was just trying to share an idea that I read about and felt that I was being taken wrong.....

Guess I got issues

I agree Spins, not about the gardening thing though. Trying to talk to the general public about real shit just doesn't cut it. Conversation here on the shroomery is way better.

There are three distinct realities occurring simultaneously.

The first involves a single point or object.
The second involves that point/object's relationship with other points/objects.
The third involves their relationships in motion.
