I confess...

I'm a Bad Myco Daddy
I've got at least a dozen and probably more like 20 cultures that I got transferred in May? June, July, and August... and they are just sitting there waiting to die on agar plates or a few on slants. Some are at room temp 68-70 F and a few lucky ones are stored at 50 F or a bit lower.
I just have not made the time to get them onto fresh agar or grains.
I suck

I'm sorry my little myco children... I hope you'll pull through my period of being a slack ass dad.

:feelingblue:

I just freed up a bunch of cultures right now so I'd have lids to add to my growing family of grain jars. I have to transfer my lucys and APE's first though. I also found lots of neglected jars. Every old TOC jar I had had at least one or two good sized shrooms. I should have cloned them. I really have to go read up on making slants because I really need to save these PESA and TOC cultures I've been working on for months.

I confess I got to bored I've been searching how to grow cordyceps. I am also watching videos on producing chlorella and spirulina.  I think trying to offset my  EDS has gotten me interested in some pretty weird but fascinating stuff. Medicinal mushrooms for instance. Now I'm looking at even smaller organisms than fruiting bodies. Algae and bacteria. Does anyone else here work with spirulina or chlorella.

"My Mystical Experience"
I confess that if it hadn't been for a bad knee surgery I had in '12 I wouldn't be here today and probably would never have grown mushrooms.

I underwent 2 years of painful rehab, had to move back with my parents and could not work or do anything that required the use of my leg. All's good now though.

I knew I did not want to waste that much time without doing anything worthwile, so from day one, I started to learn English by myself, lots of hours, every single day, from scratch. No teachers, no grammar books, no bullshit... Just learning by osmosis as a kid would.

Long hours at home also made me ponder about the nature of existence itself  Like wtf is all this that we take for granted... That search got me interested in psychedelics and their ability to raise our consciousness.

If you only speak Spanish you can forget about learning how to grow mushrooms. Mush cult is still in the stone age here. So my English allowed me to use the wealth of knowledge here and also become a member of this community.

It does not end there though, but it's just too much of a tale to write here.
In a nutshell, you can't wrap your head around the series of incredible coincidences that had to take place for me to grow. If those had not happened I could never have grown mushrooms with any kind of seriousness...
It's like the universe wanted me to grow. No coincidence

I confess I only started to grow mushrooms seriously since November of last year, and with a long hiatus in between. But it's been very intense and I love this hobby so much. I've encountered lots of hurdles along the way and I'm so thankful for those, for they forced me to find easy solutions for tough problems. And now I feel is time to give back to the community and share all the things I've learned, one at a time and as fast as my lazy ass lets me :facepalm3:

I am very successful as for as an amateur goes at bulk and ramps / nindos spawned and fruited amazingly first attempt. However I have never pulled of of teck, I do agar wrk I have my own methods doing my grain and fruiting basically just a combo of many tens with my own little tweaks to allow success in the filthiest conditions( only use still air box for agar and typically only when innoculatinh I'll open it on couch ( upside down after colonized with no contamination. Of tech contains is only thing I can produce and never birthed a cake. But my bulk works so I'm happy there . Guess I'm doing something wrong maybe being stingy w spores or  the method seems unchallenging the irony being I fail every time

I confess My Mystical Experience

I have a post that I wrote about titled My Ovoid Adventure that details an experience I had earlier this year where I feel like I was guided by intelligent self aware alien life forms that do not exist in our physical realm.

Long story short, I believe the spirits of the mushroom who I typically like to refer to as ALF guided me on a drive that took me hundreds and hundreds of miles to a river over flow area that contained so many ovoid mushrooms that I was literally sick and tired of hunting them when I left. I simply looked at google maps (for about 6 hours) and identified some spots. I didn't write this in my adventure post but the spots I chose to stop at I chose simply because the names of the creek beds stood out to me. I think they stood out to me because the ALF made me notice them and the only place on my ovoid adventure that I actually got out and hunted was the location that stood out to me the most (because of its name).

My proof that I am being guided by Alien Life Forms form another plane of existence:

I identified an area from hundreds of miles away that had more mushroom than I was interested in finding simply by viewing google maps. Every few steps literally led to about another 30 mushrooms. I identified the location mostly by its name.

I invited 4 individual friends to come along all of which opted out (because the ALF wanted me coming alone)

I accidentally began my ovoid adventure at 4:19am.

My intention was to simply locate and spore print but upon inspiration of the ALF I ended up running the myc and am now in good shape.

The ALF have given me a lot of good ideas about what to do with the myc.

I believe the ALF became aware of my intentions and chose to guide me to where I am now.

I created my profile here on the Shroomery because the ALF asked me to.

Thanks for reading :hi:

EDIT: appeal to the contest rules. Due to the fact that I read the November rules I posted before noticing the statement about trade rating. My profile is only about 60 days old so I have not yet accessed the market place. Can no bad ratings = a good rating? I did mail out some spores over a month ago to another shroomery member who promised to send me some but they never came..... Lame.

Anyway, can I still participate?

The thread says to view rules at the bottom of page 1. I went there and read the November contest info that says:

"********************************************************************************************************

update NOVEMBER CONTEST (post entry between November 1st and 10th)

THEME: My Mystical Experience

To make it clear you are making a contest entry please begin your post with:

"I confess My Mystical Experience"

THEME details / examples.
Confess something mystical, spiritual, or just plain difficult to conceive from a normal perspective that has happened to you or your life since you started your association with magic mushrooms. Dig deep, be bold, lets not anyone judge these deep confessions - make a safe space to share these deeply intimate experiences.

While partaking in magic mushrooms many of us have had experiences that are difficult to explain from a normal every day consciousness perspective.

Maybe you have had an insight, maybe you have experienced psychological or physical healing that seemed difficult or impossible to obtain through other means.

Maybe you have experienced feelings like you have at no other time in your life.

Maybe you have seen something or someone that just seems inconceivable from any ordinary state of consciousness.

Maybe your experience didn't happen while on mushrooms, maybe it is something that is happening in your life in general since you started tripping or cultivating.

Doc's example of tripping and being visited by the spirit of a good friend who just passed is a good example. (page 413 of this thread).

Your confession doesn't need to be this "out there" a person could even just say something like: "I confess my Mystical Experience is that since I starting doing mushrooms I have a better appreciation of nature than I have ever had in my life"

The original contest rules posted for May.

UPDATE: To Celebrate Turning 100 (pages) there will be a contest in this thread.
Here are the guidelines:

From May 10 2017 to May 17 2017:

Post a True Confession (be honest) that fits in one of the following Dream Themes -

1) Myco Dreams - I woke up and had this dream about mushrooms / mushroom cultivation
Examples:    I dreamt that I was miniaturized and walking around in my monotub in a forest of
                      giant cube fruits
I dreamt my girlfriend / boyfriend was a mushroom and we were making sweet
mush love on a blanket of jiffy mix casing
I dreamt that just as I was loading up my third dehydrator, law enforcement
knocked on my lab door (yes nightmares count too)
OR

2) Myco Dream / Scheme - as in I plan to do this X, Y, or Z big / difficult thing with mush cultivation.
Examples:    I dream that I will someday hybridize shiitakes and cows and make "shiitstakees"
I dream I will some day have a successful monotub
I dream I will corner the market on shrooms in my state and drive a Porsche and be
called "Shroom King" by all my homies

At the end of the contest week I will pick a winner in both categories and send you a print for sharing  your awesome true confession. To qualify for an active print the selected winner must meet the residency requirements for the market place and have a decent trade rating"

There are three distinct realities occurring simultaneously.

The first involves a single point or object.
The second involves that point/object's relationship with other points/objects.
The third involves their relationships in motion.

Here is one for ya. The wife is at work, I am in the process of making agar for some no pours, it is cooling slightly in the media bottle so easy to work with. And now I have some tea on the stove that I am going to throw a couple grams of shrooms into, lol. The race will be on.

Well this blows. I had the tea cooling and got a phone call that my son threw up at school. So I just had to run get him. No way I am drinking it with a sick kid.
