I've turned down countless good apartment options because of little counters (need big counters for grain prep) and not a big-enough walk in closet lol.

My local Wal-Mart takes out all the guesswork...

Same here. Totes in one aisle. The next aisle over has jars, lids, pressure cookers and mini rounds. The more I think about it, the more paranoid i become.

Every time I inoculate I listen to Ted Nugent- Stranglehold, on repeat.. Not sure why. Guess it just seems like a pretty good song to inject spores to.

I have like 1.5 feet of counter space in my apt if that. Lol
But I have turned down places for having all carpet. I dont wanna run the vacuum 15 times a day makes me sound like a Tweeker.

That one too. Nasty used carpet is also a deal-breaker to me. Hard floors are much easier to clean.

Righttt? I haven't been growing that long but I'm completely obsessed with the hobby. Girlfriend and I drove an hour a couple days ago to see Christmas lights. Some trees had a single line of lights that circled around the lowest hanging, outside branches that made em look exactly like big mushies. My gf saw it too, but was immediately annoyed because I say that for just about everything I see now.
Also doesn't help that's I have like 8 jars, a monotub, and an orange juice bottle filled with mycellium cluttered all over our room.
This thread is great!

do you live in a college town? ships are used in other research aswell. I scored a whole case of half pints with ships on them already from someone's leftover project, they were the smooth kind to so they have awesome visibility!

I ordered some CaCO3 for my casing layers. I was not at home and the parcel was delivered to my neighbor. It was not delivered in a carton just in a black liner. He asked me: "What did you order? Sand?" And there comes the moment when your brain is kinda fucked "No it's just Christmas decoration"
I don't know if IKEA has stores in America but everytime I go to shop there with my wife I spend A LOT of time in front of the storage boxes (for monutubs) / airtight containers (for trays) with a tapeline and a calculator.. People look at me like I am insane. OK... maybe I'm really kinda insane...

I don't actually care if I get mushrooms, I like the mycelium parts. The sterile tech, the grain and agar prep, trying new containers, building things, dialing them in, pcing and pasteutizing... it's all so much fun and rewarding that if I do, and I rarely do, get all the way to harvest, it's just a neat little plus
