TheBlackCat said: I've made things with my agar supplies before. I will admit I'm out of agar because I kept making coconut mango honey milk jelly squares. Also I use my nutritional yeast in almost all recipes for a meaty flavor and to get all my amino acids on days when I eat mostly vegetables and shrooms. Its awesome in stews and soups.
I confess I am happy with having a lot less side and pins. Before you cringe the center is an area of damaged mycelium that's healed itself. That's blue not green. Also it's had the smell test. I got a decent pinset for the second flush. I had to flip it because the bottom and sides were literally covered with pins and the would have contaminated. To me this is progress since these guys look like they are going to get big and fat for me unlike the first flush that had only tiny guys. Now that I have a better idea of how to keep up my surface moisture I'm planning for a better first flush. Going to use one of my nice PESA cultures to knock up a jars tomorrow and dump these old mystic bins tonight. My other cultures could use another transfer or two.
The center also illustrates the amazing density of this mycelium. The bottom was so covered in pins when 'i flipped it iyt was close to a flat sheet of them and I had to scrape the surface with a scalpel to make room for new pins to form.

Trich. At least you posted it in the right thread
You can try to cut it out with a spoon or something, and put a salt paste over the area. Cut up to 3/4" further out that the visible trich, and dont put too much excess salt, as it will make some of your mushrooms taste salty. This can help stave off the trich, that is trich, until you get a few mature mushrooms

I would never cut trich. You can also see the greyish ring around the bright white, that's where the cubes are fighting the mold. Trich is all meshed in there. Because trich grows faster horizontal what you see on the surface is just the tip. Cut into the trich mass and you will end up spreading trich myc fragments everywhere. When those land on a healthy sub they will contam it. Trich mycelium eats cube mycelium.

I use a big metal soup spoon (its more pointed han a ladle) that I have to remove it, and a secondary spoon to keep it in the big spoon. I don't drop any, usually. Then I rinse it inbetween scoops. Then spread salt paste throughout the crater. If you just put the salt paste on, without removing the trich and nearby sub, it doesnt really slow it down ime.
It has worked for me.

If you think it's safe practice then fill your boots. But I prefer to believe that I can't see microscopic trich fragments and prefer to not have more floating around my house than is already there. Maybe the temptation is easier avoided since I haven't even seen trich pre first flush since 2014.

I'll just isolate it in my bulkhead. My bulkhead already has a shit ton of spores so why not. It'll be fine kids. I'll harvest it outside and dump the sub. It should be ready in a few days. Soaking grain tonight to start over. Next grow should be better. Don't want to be messing around too much with the substrate anymore. Just going to get those damn surface conditions right.

Refer to my journal, if you need some pro-tips.
Don't refer to my journal. Dont even open it. Thanks in advance.

Mind you I've been pretty high all day. I have to stop smoking up because I literally don't want to do shit. It just kills so much pain but makes me useless.
I watched the white stuff and it looked like there was more and I got closer and it was starting to get the signature musty smell. I was like well if I poke it it might sporulate but if I wet the area the contaminate particulates won't float around when I scoop . Then in the back of my head all I heard was burn it with fire so I grabbed a bottle of ISO and burned it with alcohol just past the point of the outline. I sprayed more on top every time I scooped some out. Then when I was done I sprayed the inside of the hole and edges for good measure. Doubt it will work but yeah. I confess this is the brilliant shit I do when I' m high. I stuck it in the bulkhead. You should see this massive crater in the middle and some of the mushrooms turned blue from the alcohol. Either way I was going to toss it so if the outer edges survive great. If not I'll toss it. Seriously It took me forever to convince myself it would be a really good idea to go soak some grain for my next 18 Jars. Then I realized me gypsum was not put back on the supplements shelf and I was pissed because it took even longer to convince myself to go through my room and clean it a little so I could find it.

I wonder what would happen if I lit the ISO with my torch and literally burned it with fire.

You should try kratom for pain and energy. Mix some red vein and some white vein.

I like really want to burn it with fire now and film it and make a gif out of it for here. But I'm going to not do the thing that might set my house of fire even though it might be fun.
Kratom? Really does it work? The drug companies are trying to get kratom controlled so I don't want to use anything I may not be able to order again. I suppose I could grow my own I guess if that's possible. I'll look into up. Thanks.

Kratom helped me kick some pretty severe drug habbits, and booze. It is amazing for energy, and it is helpful for pain. You could probably use both kratom and less pot. You can order a kilo of the shit for like $75. Keep it sealed air tight in a cool dry place to preserve it, it will lose potency otherwise. Keep your dose low, dont overdo it, because it will lose its magic. I use like 0.5g per dose when I use it, and have not built up a significant tolerance. You can become dependent on it though, but its no worse han caffein addiction. There was a point where I couldnt get off my ass to do anything without it, but as soon as I dosed, I was instantly in business. 1kg has lasted me a couple years.

Hey BC.! Toss that shit out Get those obvious mold spores away from your grow area.

It's in my basement bulkhead not my grow room. No way I'd keep this anywhere close to my stuff with all that gnarly trich in it. Like you guys said trich is fast as fuck. The PESA was definitely being out competed. Now I know how this contam rolls. Next time I see this shit I'll know.
