I would “burn that with fire” like you always say. Definitely not “healed” mycelium

That’s not what bruised substrate looks like. That is the bright white mycelium that proceeds to become a sporulating green. You wouldn’t be able to smell trich. It doesn’t have a “bad” smell.

When I press it it bruises blue. Does trich bruise blue when you press it down? It smells fine too. There's no amber fluid like with mycogone and no off smell and no metabolites being formed. Here's what I'll do. I'll put it in quarantine and see how it does to be safe since it does appear a bit off.
But the color contrast between the old myc and the new mycelium. Some of the newer mycelium is also growing on the stems off all the mushies and it's bright white as well compared to the sub which is contrast is a bit more yellowed from being cleaned off. This could be the confusion. I have experienced this phenomenon with some of my other abused subs. The old mycelium is off yellow and white new mycelium starts to appear. Thought it was originally contams but never turned into anything in the other tub but more mushies.

Most of us already have buffets of dicks to eat I mean, that is why most of us are here in the first place!

TheBlackCat said: I've made things with my agar supplies before. I will admit I'm out of agar because I kept making coconut mango honey milk jelly squares. Also I use my nutritional yeast in almost all recipes for a meaty flavor and to get all my amino acids on days when I eat mostly vegetables and shrooms. Its awesome in stews and soups.
I confess I am happy with having a lot less side and pins. Before you cringe the center is an area of damaged mycelium that's healed itself. That's blue not green. Also it's had the smell test. I got a decent pinset for the second flush. I had to flip it because the bottom and sides were literally covered with pins and the would have contaminated. To me this is progress since these guys look like they are going to get big and fat for me unlike the first flush that had only tiny guys. Now that I have a better idea of how to keep up my surface moisture I'm planning for a better first flush. Going to use one of my nice PESA cultures to knock up a jars tomorrow and dump these old mystic bins tonight. My other cultures could use another transfer or two.
The center also illustrates the amazing density of this mycelium. The bottom was so covered in pins when 'i flipped it iyt was close to a flat sheet of them and I had to scrape the surface with a scalpel to make room for new pins to form.

That is trich....for sure...will be green by tomorrow, maybe friday...isolate it now....I just had 2 of my tubs trich out on me

On a serious note I think once you lock in how to keep your surface conditions right you won’t have to do weird stuff like flipping subs or scraping the surface with a scalpel. Looks like you might end up with a few good sized shrooms from that tub though

Lol I don't know if that had anything to do with them being as big....none of the other 17 tubs pushed out anything close to that size...
