I do of the 1st side. This is the side the clones came from. Like the day after I harvested I could seen pins poking through the casing on the other half of this tub. The fruits in the pic were picked on the 10th day after spawn. I hope they keep that speed! Just some solid dense fuckers.

I don't have a real job, lol.

Confession, I get sad not having myco work some days,I get bored. I have been on a agar junkie spell. I love to do agar work now that I have a flow hood. So much easier and less time consuming. I'm fine at not moving over sterile media and all that shit, I just move to fast for my SAB. That coupled with drafts in my basement and SAB work was hard to keep mold free. Not a single bit of mold in the last few weeks.

Since you love agar work so much, I have some cultures you can clean up

I'm cleaning up enough right now, lol. It helps keep me from getting bored some days. Sometimes it is nice to sit there alone, listening to music, hidden from the world.

I'm confessing that it happened, not suggesting everyone try it.
It did come out pretty tasty. But I had to put in more than twice the amount compared to sugar that I normally use.
And not like it's super expensive, but malt is definitely two or three times the price of sugar.
It also clumped up a bit. Took a lot of stirring compared to sugar.

It's just simple sugars and it's used in beer. Aside from having intolerances or allergies to the grains the malt is made of, I don't see any problems coming from using it in food or drinks any time soon. AFAIK, simple sugars can be used by basically every life form as a source of energy.

And come to think of it, it IS used in food. Check your box of cornflakes if you have one, chances are it will list "malt extract" as one of the ingredients.

It never occurred to me at all that malt extract was something anyone could find tasty, despite it's use in all kinds of shit.  Will have to sample some.

I've made things with my agar supplies before. I will admit I'm out of agar because I kept making coconut mango honey milk jelly squares. Also I use my nutritional yeast in almost all recipes for a meaty flavor and to get all my amino acids on days when I eat mostly vegetables and shrooms. Its awesome in stews and soups.

I confess I am happy with having a lot less side and pins. Before you cringe the center is an area of damaged mycelium that's healed itself. That's blue not green. Also it's had the smell test. I got a decent pinset for the second flush. I had to flip it because the bottom and sides were literally covered with pins and the would have contaminated. To me this is progress since these guys look like they are going to get big and fat for me unlike the first flush that had only tiny guys. Now that I have a better idea of how to keep up my surface moisture I'm planning for a better first flush. Going to use one of my nice PESA cultures to knock up a jars tomorrow and dump these old mystic bins tonight. My other cultures could use another transfer or two.

The center also illustrates the amazing density of this mycelium. The bottom was so covered in pins when 'i flipped it iyt was close to a flat sheet of them and I  had to scrape the surface with a scalpel to make room for new pins to form.

Sigh. Absolutely not trich. A piece fell off the sub. Trust me. I'd smell it if it was. I pick up on contams pretty quick. It's just sub abuse.
