I've got agar cooling down and I don't really feel like pouring the plates.
I needed new scalpel blades badly but can't wait to order a pack of just blades so went to the store and just bought two overpriced xactos

CL is great if you're not trying to buy drugs or hookers

edit:
and they're poured

its a still air box, not a sanitary air box. neither belong inside a sab. the only thing you should spray in sab is soapy water.

I confess that I have been using Cloth Durapore tape instead of paper micropore. I don't know if it works the same, but didn't realize my mistake for a while. I picked up some paper micropore today.

Don't feel bad. I did the same for a long time. Durapore really isn't that breathable. Did the research. D'oh! You can get good deals for bulk micropore on ebay. I used it for labeling after till I realized the residual adhesive was too strong and I use micropore for labeling too.

I just label on the container with sharpie. I have iso to clean it off later.

:whathesaid: although, honestly. any fine, wet particulates should work. I've used this shit called advanage, it's an all pourpose cleaner, it was laying around and I was being lazy. I've even gotten away without spraying quite a few times

That hood is some next level shit right there. Makes my 105 quart sterlite SAB look all white and trashy. Nice job man! Looks like some nice craftsmanship.

there is shit you can do in a sab that you cant do in front of a hood. both tools have their pros and cons.

Haha name 1 thing you can do in a SAB that can't be done in sterile flow. Literally can't think of a single thing and
I have both. On the other hand, there are TONS of things you can do in front of a flowhood that are damn near impossible
to do in a SAB.

Nice fuckin build LW! Purdy for sure. Makes me want to rebuild my cabinet

Got me there I guess! I haven't had to open a contaminated plate since building my hood though so the idea literally
didn't cross my mind

I was just wondering the same thing. I guess taking spore prints and packing them is a bit easier in the SAB vs in front of the flow hood. It does try to blow the foil around. Also I have to turn mine way down when swabbing spores so it doesn't blow my print away.

I don't open ones contaminated with mold. I just start over from spore.

That makes perfect sense. I'm just working from print so I can start over, where in your case it is smarter to hit the SAB and try to save it.

If your hood is blowing strong enough to actually blow your foil away then your hood is blowing too hard I would think. 100ft/min
really isn't that hard of a gust. You should feel a very light breeze when you put your hand up to the hood face.

For prints I just sanitize a shoebox in front of my hood and put the caps in there with the lid on. Keeps humidity in nice for dark prints
and it can basically be put anywhere after the lid is on. When it's time to dry prints, I take the caps out and put the lid back on to
dry for 12 or so hours.
