I confess I'm fucking frustrated with all the god damn side pins on my PESA. Don't know why. RH looks. good. For fucks sake.
And my other PESA bin turned into an overnight trich farm. Sigh. This shit is hard.

i once farmed 60 monotubs full of trich at once. these were the days before polyfil holes in tubs.
straw + tub with no holes in a currentless closet=trich farmer.

blackcat, are you casing your bulk?

No not casing it. This is my first contaminated mono. Never had this issue when I wasn't using liners and wiping the bins with alcohol. The other tub is safe.
It's just these fucking side pins. Ugggh why?

might be too dry on the top. fruits are growing where the moisture is and the conditions are right.

I've been packing my subs in more firmly at spawn and I think that's helping with side pins

Ok guys. I'll do some reading and see if it helps. I'm just confused because I thought if you saw a light mist of water droplets and the sides were foggy that was enough.

Can I still reuse the plastic tub if I spray it with bleach outside. Seven bucks is a lot for me to spend on a tub right now.

Eh that description could potentially be applied to some conditions that aren't quite perfect. Have you been reading cube mycelium long? It'll usually let you know if it's thirsty but sometimes it comes down to giving them a little bit more than it looks like they need and seeing how fast they drink it up, to get a better feel for the needs of the specific culture. I don't generally recommend anything vaguely like overwatering to people but I assume you know what too much looks like. Generally it's just keeping the cycle of evaporation going though. Maybe there's a source of moving air or something throwing the balance off?
Also yes, reuse that tub. Tossing whole tubs is pretty wasteful.

Thanks for the reading materials. Cleared a lot of shit up for me. Going to get it right next time. Going to grow TOC's, Lucy's, and try a small mono of APE's. I'm determined!

It's all a learning curve BC you got this...I had a bump in the road learning to prep grains, and had high contamination rates for about a 2 month stretch...

Here is a confession, i am leaving within a week for 3 months to Peru to take care of the reishi mushroom business and there is a lot to be done but in my heart and mind I just HAVE to isolate and store the mushrooms I found today! And the second flush of my clone would be nice to see too!

Yes there were September winners announced and I needed to skip a month - so we'll have a November contest.
