We can react to the spores of Oyster and Cubes and others. It seems progressive with exposure...I get wacked from Oyster. Not good. I feel the cube spores. and see them on my fans. Wearing a respirator this year and I filter all my recirc fans.

my dog is allergic (or maybe just really revolted by) cubensis spores. it took about a year of growing and dehydrating, but at some point, he would never come into my room where he slept for the previous 6 years.
I ended up moving 2 years ago. he went back to normal, sleeping in my new room with me. then when I started a few smaller grows back up, he stopped coming in again.
I don't have to worry about it now cause I don't grow them, but it was definitely weird at first before I figured it out.
I think pasty's dog is allergic to oyster spores IIRC

Living in an extremely dry desert region but having an extended rainy season this winter, and cursing it because the increased bloom & moisture is going to raise the overall sporeload in the atmosphere during the spring and summer. I was looking forward to taking advantage of a climate where fewer competitors grow normally
- confession inception: this also feels like a noob thing to expect; cuz for all I know, the dry-ass summers here might mean there's one or two insanely aggressive molds that will grow on anything cuz it can survive living in hell already

Confession: I give away far more mushrooms than I eat, happily stoking people's lives with mind mind blowing experiences and a deeper appreciation for life... But lately I've been seeing dollar signs on my dehydrator trays. Feels kinda dirty
(But I think I'll get over it)

So much out there... so many beautiful grows and so many quick fixes to suggest to new folk... It could be full time job commenting on all the grows.
I'm kinda hoping my wife wife will go to bed early tonight instead of watching a movie with me... so I can get some grain prep started for some weekend myco work

Ahaha I kind of feel ya on that one. There has definitely been an increase in quality grows lately. Everyone's just killing it left right and center!
I feel guilty for not helping out the newcomers with PF tek as much as I used to. I used to be so active on boards but now I just stick to a handful of threads.

I feel guilty spreading more time on the boards then actually helping my baby's grow. But lets be honest don't you get tired of the same of two problems asked over and over. I actually just want to upgrade grains

I flamed an inoc loop when i was drunk and dunked it straight into my heavily bacterial agar plate instead of the clean plate i meant to cool it in, in open air. Thought fuck it so just quickly used it to get the myc into the clean dish anyway.
That dish obviously turned out bacterial but i managed to get a clean transfer from it still (when i was sober)

I once asked a friend 'how much for a dose of sclerotia?' for my friend who was going to eat my ATL7s for the first time. i was asking about how much sclerotia someone should eat for a trip.
My friend responded with "30 a dose" that sounded reasonable to me except the person was responding with the dollar price for a dose of truffles.
The poor guy i told to take 30 grams tripped for 40 hours and lost his job because he had to call in sick to work two days ina row. First day he was tripping too hard and second day was because he was so exhausted from being awake so long
Never again will i be ambiguous about dossage and pricing.
