I hooked a few members up with some dehydrated chanterelles last year...I picked 60lbs hoping I'd be able to sell them fresh...but that didn't go as planned so I started dehydrating them....and trading them or gifting them to people here and there...
...this was one trip to my spot..only stayed 2hrs that day...went back and got 2 more sacks full the next day...this year wasn't worth the time barely any popped up... And they looked sad

Wish you lived near me. The store near me would have loved to buy some. Next time try selling them on ebay.

At that time I was trying to sell them on fb...but after a day or so I started cutting the big ones in half and dehydrating them....I bet a couple weighed 2-3lbs each...can't wait to have another good chant season

Carp fishing is like playing catch here, almost every boy did it with his father at least once, and no one eats it here. There are those that have tried once though, and they all say it tastes like dirt. The carp fishing spots here aren't exactly clean enough to catch food from anyway. I'm not all that into fishing myself.
I did buy 2 ducks off some hunters the other day, made the breasts on skin with freshly picked porcini in a cream sauce. Yum!

I confess I got my first fully formed agar pins on my TOC. I want them to get just a teeny bit bigger then I'll harvest and clone.

Walleye is my favorite. Fresh caught, grilled and poor in a sandwich with lettuce, mayo, and pickled tomatoes.... that's my shit!

Pickled in salt and then saved in vinegar? I can imagine those sweet cherry tomatoes being a true delight that way...

Don't know. They are small to medium sized tomatoes pickled in a jar.

I have one friend who knows that I grow. He always offers to help. We are in the city and the tractor supply store is an hour (and a toll bridge) away. So I ask him to make the trip and pick up some oats.
He comes back all excited and proud. Telling me we won't have to get any more grains for months. He filled the trunk and back seat with bags of oats.
I go help him unload the car.
250 lbs of ROLLED OATS.
I've tried a few different prep methods already. No matter what I do, they come out as a starchy gloppy mess.
