so for anyone curious I think my problem was from moving the pc after putting the lid on and not knowing that they toppled over on each other and caused the warping

I used to angle mine but, most of the time I'm leaving them sit in the fridge so long the culture on the agar is dead. So now I just make sure the wood is well colonized since that's what I'm probably going for when I revive em.

Ah, good question, tom. The slanting comes once they are out of the PC. You have to do it before the agar solidifies too inside your SAB or in front of the hood, and let them cool there. They make these slanting racks so that you can PC tubes at the slant. They are about 50$ a piece, but don't fit the plastic. They'll work for the glass tubes though. If the culture tube is not at a almost 90degree slant and has no wood, then it's not a true master culture slant. I just stepped out of the lab. Next time I go in I'll snap a pic or two of my slants. I have both the plastic and glass tubes.

What size are those and where'd you get them?
Yeah I was leaving them to cool at a slant(on a drying rack too) after pcing just sounded like EYA was saying he just leaves them to cool overnight. Maybe his are just warm enough to slant after that?

No, man. Over night and the agar will be solidified. A good rule of thumb is You have to hit/work the slants 2 hours after the PC returns to atmospheric pressure, so once your PC returns to atmospheric pressure set a timer for two hours, retrieve the slants, after the two hours, and set them up in you box, or in front of the hood. Make sure the lids are all on tight for the cool down process.

Right that's what I thought and how I've been practicing with the warped ones.
Now that I've done that with over a 100 that didn't get used I should have no troubles next time with the glass ones.

Woah! That dish rack idea is great. I'll have to keep that in mind once I start making slants. I definitely need to store this reishi culture from this wild clone. This thing is a fast colonizer. 5-6 days and the jar is heavily colonized. That's if you are dropping it in on plates.

Says the person who used to post all types of personal shit and photos. Mushboy pointed out that it wasn't wise to do so, and he was a creep for it too.
