Well you can just set yourself up in your bed with a towel underneath while watching netflix. IDK. I guess everyone is different but I love it. It's almost like how people love their little bonsai trees. I like touching all the mushrooms and looking at them. I know I have issues. I don't bother with the cleaning. Usually I'm gentle enough and if a good size piece does come up I just chop it off with really sharp kitchen scissors.

I got to the no fucks given point...after my first mini mono...I was like fuck this! Twist, pull, cut the bottoms off... Glad I adopted this early...it would take forever to harvest 10 mini's if I wanted to check every fruit out...my first tub took a little over an hour...now a tub takes 15 maybe 20 minutes to harvest

Before I got a job that took all of my time- I used t sit with them for hours- literally watching them grow, singing to them along with the music I play to them. I'm totally on that level.

Don't have time to be all anal about harvesting. The substrate isn't intentionally destroyed, but that's just to make cleaning the substrate from the fruits easier. This is how I harvest dense clusters of fruits. . Works good if you want more than one flush too.

Is that swab from those APE's in your signature or at least from the same lineage? I'm so excited about them. I promised myself I'd make agar on Saturday for them.

Confession: had a really shitty day. A friend posted this without knowing how much this small scene meant for me a shaped the way I view the world. It was a good reminder on a dark day.

The piece I was transferring would always stick to the blade. It wouldn't come off easily ever. Now when I pick it up, I make sure to barely touch it with the tip of the blade, just enough for it to stick. Then I gently drag the blade backward on the center of the receiving plate. I just did 14 transfers the night before last, every one was smooth.

It's the flipping the transfer mycelium side down part that gets a little tricky.

me too... I also like the sound late at night after I turn the All American off and it makes sounds as it slowly cools and depressurizes... all the while emitting the delicious aroma of cooked grains.

Yeah... well cooked grains are MUCH better than pasteurizing horse poo or even a big load of wheat straw - that smells pretty special. I try to do that when people are not in the house.
