I must confess I feel a strange urg to just stare at these for ridiculously long periods of time. Like Time is irrelevant when comparing yours to what's happening here.

And I confess the picture doesn't do the justice I'm getting a new cam asap
Edit here this might help

Where can I buy pre-roll tubes. Any good cheap sites online? Also any good places here to read up on making culture slants?

Also I confess I get bored too when everyone is gone. I usually cruise between here and netflix when I'm home.

if you don't buy prerolls and plan on buying online then I suggest just getting regular culture tubes. they are superior in almost every way. the preroll tubes are a no pour I came up with last year, in all honesty they didn't turn out how I hoped.

Ugggh. Culture slants seems like so much work. Can I store this culture in  the fridge for a few weeks until I finished up some other stuff and then do it. I'm growing new ones so I could save one of those. Thanks for the info. Definitely going to use it soon.

Yeah I don't have slants yet just a fridge of plates.....

I'd wrap them and put them in a ziploc first.

I use half pint glass jars with filtered lids. I don't think I need to wrap them.

wrapping them cuts down on the fae on the filter, which keeps the agar from drying out longer. its not to keep them clean so much as it is to keep them from drying out.

I use those same ones and I still would recommend it so they stay clean for a long duration.
No need to even wipe when you need to use it just unrwap and get to work.

But yeah that is overboard and a ziploc should work.

Just the fridge can be pretty dirty and I wouldn't want that to cause an issue.

Also Make sure to insulate the plates somehow or temp fluctuation can cause condensation and filter failure.

I've never wrapped over the filter. Just the sides, as I would be afraid to cause condensation buildup on the filter from being under the plastic. But I have them in stacks in bags so the top has very little fae.

When munch says wrap I think he just mean bag them.

That's a good tip.  Air/gasses will take the path of least resistance, so if your lid is properly fitted with good GE filtration the gasses will exchange through the filtering material.

Oh man he went into it tripping. I couldn't do that. I love the ind too much. I'd probably try to stand outside with my arms outstretched. When I was little maybe 8 or 9 and we had a hurricane I remember being outside on my fire escape. I was in my cabbage patch nightgown with my arms out. My mom had to come bring me back inside. I wish I was a little kid. I used tot rip naturally.  :letyourspiritsoar:
