Has anyone ever had a persistent contaminant they couldn't transfer out no matter how hard they tried? I have a white contaminant of sorts I'm trying to identify in my PESA. Any suggestions on it. It might actually be a bacteria of sorts but I'm not sure.

I'm trying to clean the contaminant out of it on agar right now. It's almost like the contaminant is part of the mycelium at this point.

describe it. I seem to have similar issues. is it uniform? if so it's likely that it's some bacteria hitching a ride. in my experience mold shows itself with contrast against myc. if not it shows colored spores pretty soon. you only have pasty plates huh? unless you have something in better visibility I would say don't bother with a pic.

I have the them in half pint jars. Pretty good viability. It's white and not uniform growing next to the PESA. It almost reminds me of yeast when it first starts out but the blobs aren't circular. I'll get a pic in the next few hours or so when I'm around my closet again.

I wouldn't make it known I was apart of some church that uses illegal sacraments .lol I think it's kinda cool though, maybe later in life, but I'm thinking active mushrooms will be legal in ten years.
I believe that our gods are actually aliens beings that are just far more advanced, they been directing us through the ages and influencing us, kinda like the Greek gods are portrayed to do.

Did you know that Jesus did psychedelics?
I confess, I would trip with big C

Cough, cough. You did WHAT! Holy shit. Ok I'm not going to say anything. Just...
So here is the problem invader. Some kind of white slime. All of the jars have this slime directly attached to the PESA and anywhere the inoculation loop happened to touch. The reason why I know it's definitely the PESA is because all of my other cultures were clear of contamination from this batch. I examined each one thoroughly with a high powered light. You'll see a few bright spots from the flash but the rest is mycelium. The contaminant is the more dull white slimy substance.

I just read an article stating fresh cubes and cultivation aren't illegal in New Mexico. Drying them (aka processing/manufacturing) is illegal, though. It was a couple years old but may still be the case.
