Will it still work? I put boiling water in the bucket and mixed it good and put a lid on to keep the heat in. What's a good way to pasteurize huge amounts of substrate?

I still don't know what I'm going to do with the 1000 dowels I got for free to make up for the moldy spawn in my last order. It wouldn't have been my first choice. I think they gave them to me because they were part of older inventory because all the dowels are a large white mycelial block. I'm learning about maitake as we speak but it seems really hard to grow so I may just leave them in the fridge till I move. This should slow the growth down and keep the safe rright? I don't want to kill my dowels. Maybe I can sell some on ebay. Do they ship well?

Perhaps a "Giveaway" in the market place is in order? Spread the love-dowels.

I do want to keep a few for myself for some logs but giving some away is a great idea. I'll think of a contest and post this week in in the gourmet mushroom forums.

How did I not realize I just opened myself up for some major innuendo. :ohyou:

Do you think the substrate I put boiling water over in the bucket and put a lid on will be ok? I know I asked this once already. The cocoa beans aren't like straw or other materials. The beans get roasted inside the shells so the shells therefore are roasted and somewhat clean to begin with I think. Also I will have a large spawn to substrate ration.

Good thing I don't have to make 5 gallons of sub for my cubes and I can pasteurize those the right way. It's pretty important I know soon because I opened the spawn bag a few hours ago when I was going to use the original substrate I made and ended up dumping  in my garden because it was too wet.

Haha I just remembered the first time I tried to grow in 2010 before I joined this site I followed some shit I found on youtube and made a glovebox out of a cardboard box with saran wrap on top and cut holes in the side with duct taped gloves. I lysol'd the fuck out of it til I couldn't breathe. Ah the joys of being gullible and underage

Market place would be the right place. People would really appreciate this.

So oyster bags are done. I still have enough spawn for one more bag but I ran out of substrate. I should have just dumped the whole bag in a 64 quart bin. Always next time. I may just get a few longs and drill some holes in them tomorrow and shove the spawn in and stick the logs in the garden. Who knows. I'm sleepy and medicated. I'll figure it out in tomorrow.

One of my pan cyan bags went bad but the other one still looks good. I'll know when I open it and smell it tomorrow. I'll just dump the pan bag in the yard with the rest of the crap. I have some transfers to do tomorrow too. So much work. None of the jars I made have gone bad yet. Knock on wood. The reishi is almost ready. What a weird day with all the fighting upstairs and stupid drama and my back being junk.

Here are those thick wads I was talking about eating. Crispy on the outside. Tasted like chicken with a shellfish texture like properly friend clams. Super tasty!

Oyster bags. I camped them with bobby pins at the top.

Also jars! The pink and red spots aren't contams. They are just agar bits.

I stole 2 pc fans from my work place. They were going to be destroyed so I saved them. I will use one of them in my humidity bucket and other one will be saved as backup.

My bad. I wasn't aware there was a time frame. Always thought it was a trade rating thing. If thats the route she takes i will try and get you one. I mentioned the market place with no intention of denying anyone a chance at anything.

I feel this is how things should be and not just with spore print's. People always trying to come up on others ain't cool. Helping each other out is the route to a much better world and a much better attitude amongst it's inhabitants.:2cents: Thanks Eat.

I have maitake dowels to trade right now Eatyu. Unfortunately everything else is still on agar or in jars. If you wait I have some really rhizomorphic purple mystics. Also I could send you a small piece of a KSSS or PESA print that psilo sent me in return.

I confess, it's hard as fk to do myco work with a jacked up hand. Chicken wire, the silent killer (I jabbed it in about 3/4").

I have 4 more jars to inoculate, but I can't open them.

I've had 2 strokes so this hand is usually pretty numb, but not right now. It's like all the sensation it's lacked over the  years have come back with a vengeance. Throbbing, burning, sharp pain.
