I confess while upholstering my friends boat while dry docked in WA, i stashed an oz of Psilocybe cyanescens in my work. Flash forward Ugashik AK. Now that the drift net season is over on that part of Bristol Bay,AK. I get a message about my cocoa prep and how many sealed bags per man( I seal my doses individually for potency retention. 3.5 ). I confess, i wish i was there, on the river, in the abandoned since 1960's Salmon cannery my friend owns. I confess, been more than 3 years since i dosed. I confess, ive mailed out, handed over, gifted, suprised, given away over a pound dry easily this year. As with every year. Ive retained a 1/2 oz for back up incase i want to partake(which i do)before it's season on in two months and my coffers are full once again.

I confess that i let an old spawn jar soak with hot water and a ton of dish washing liquid, then ended up forgetting about it. It started growing myc. I put it on agar and it took quite a few transfers to clean. Was a fun surprise and proves that mycelium can blow your mind sometimes. . I don't ever recommend doing this.

I confess I haven't done any myco work since the love of my life freaked out. Today is the first day I've really had the urge to do agar work. Thinking of putting some wild summer oysters to agar along with p. Alutacea.

finding different ways to stack them, or as i buy more tubs i grabs some jars as well.
I once walked into a hard store and spotted my beloved tub of RTV and grabbed it right of the shelf. The guy behind the counter said he had never seen anyone find what he was looking for so quickly.

LizardWizard said: I confess that I'm a bit nervous about my second try sterilizing test tubes. The caps melted in the first time, ran it at 20 psi. Tried a regular boil on a cap and it held tight, so now I'm trying 15 PSI. They're sold as sterilizable in the PC so they should hold.. Looks to be PP. The PP bucket I put them in was slightly warped too, but it touched the side of the cooker where it warped, so I'm thinking it'll all be good at 15 PSI, but it still gets me all anxious. Opening it up just to have to do it all over again is no fun.
They did not hold up. Time to contact the webshop that sold them as being sterilizable...

I appreciate the tought, from all you guys, but my problem is not finding good tubes, I have a source for tubes that suit me way better than those 50 ml ones, but they are expensive and bulky, as are the 50 ml tubes, and I need the culture tubes for purposes that can't take up much space, or are easiest to work with in smaller spaces, such as a 10 ml culture tube. The suggestions you guys made, although appreciated, don't really suit my needs.

My Confession of an amateur mycologist is: I often find myself standing and staring at my tubs hoping if I stand there long enough I will watch the caps open!
I also confess: I have been using team-viewer from my work computer to connect to my home PC and browse "The Shroomery" during work hours.

If caught viewing shroomery at work just tell them your part of a very important ecological study to prevent a fungal disaster.

In other news I think my ganoderma sessile culture is trying to escape from the jar and form some kind of alien brain sucking creature. I left for two days and came home to find it double in size and it has pretty much eaten up most of the agar. People weren't kidding when they said it was aggressive. I am debating whether or not just to drop it on grain now instead of doing at least one transfer since it's so damn aggressive it would beat out any contaminants and well the culture wasn't visibly contaminated to begin with. It's just a clean white block of mycelium.
What the hell should I grow it on. Maybe some cocoa mulch. I figured I might as well since I'm getting a bunch of it for my oysters. http://www.pubhort.org/isms/12/2/v12_p2_a23.htm

Thanks. Figured out where to get some pellets and I also have a place nearby that will give me some sawdust. Unfortunately my landlord won't approve of me dumping sawdust in the yard so still going with the cocoa shells for the oyster patch.
