Oh, right, aging will cause pieces of grit forming inside a brick
Well, technically, it could, after some million years and a lot of pressure

I had ordered some sponsor stuff once and remember taking a close look at it, and that was far more clean. I'm just saying if that's in there, there very well could be some shit that will give mold a foot hold in, with a simple bucket tek.

I confess that I buried my old cultures like a dog just now. I just emptied 20 cultures of pan cyans and purple mystics. I now have the potential for 3 different varies of cubes and 1 variety of pans possibly since I put bovung in a small corner of the patch. I have a nice hardwood maple log in the patch and I'm going to spawn some reishi outside and also have a reishi bin inside to make antlers. I really like my little patch. It's right up against a concrete wall and has partial shade. Also there's a decomposed stump breaking down next to it too I could put some oysters or or something like that. Honestly I don't care WTF grows outside. I just need a corner to dump my plates and substrate. It's more fun than anything. Just the stuff growing inside is important. Also I confess I won't be making anymore brightly colored novelty plates because it looks odd having neon blue and green stuff poking through the mulch.
I also just got three dishes of KSSS and two PESA started since I had 5 unused plates. I'm really starting to get more confident now that i'm making plates that are barely getting contaminated besides a bacterial dot or two. every once in awhile. I don't sweat as much over it and get my work done twice as fast.

I'm moving in a few months too. I'm seriously considering this one place that has a pool and gym in the complex. I just really have to decide if it's worth paying 300 more a month to live in nice complex. It's surround by woods and all sorts of mulch and nice grass. Lot's of fun places to sneak little patches of stuff. So yeah seriously considering it. I'll have to take on like 10 more hours a week though.

i confess, i feel your pain cbk.
i had to take a year off cult. i was itching to grow so bad. instead i made ecig vape juice with shatter. so i guess that kept me busy.
i been growing for 20 years. and that was the first year i did not cultivate anything. i did learn how to make some hash and shatter juice. it comes in handy when im on the go.

Sounds like it would be worth it if you can afford it. You cant put a price on quality of life! Plus a gym and a pool sounds heavenly
Damn a whole year would be hell! I thought a couple months was bad At lest you kept busy with something though. It's crazy how much more productive I have become since I started growing. Always have something on the go these days. Before I grew mushrooms I would just work and do shit all when I got home. Now it seems I have more projects going than I know how to keep track of

I'm trying to be super careful not to overburden myself. I want to grow so many kinds but I also can't tend to too many bins and work in my condition and have any kind of social life too. That's what great about the patch. I can just culture anything wild I find that I like and spawn to grain and dump it in the patch and forget about it. I just really don't know what the new people who end up buying the house are going to think about their new little mushroom patch.

Well, if there's one thing I learned in life (the hard way, several times), it's that working extra hours just to cover your bills because you wanted extra amenities. I've gone to a different view since then. I'd go with a house that is shabby, but just good enough to live in, whatever that is for you. It might even save you a couple 100 instead of adding it, leaving you with more bucks to spend on the things you really like, put in your own amenities. Think about it this way. If the pool helps you feel better, but 10hrs extra work make you feel worse, you could just check out the local municipal pool or even a private spa to check both the prices and the times when business is slow. Then you just go at those moments when you feel you really need it, and pay a lot less. Where I live, there's lots of choice between appartment buildings, houses, and area's to live. I could go for city, but that costs me big. Everything is closer, but I'm the Ron Swanson type o guy, leave me the fuck alone and let me go hiking in the woods for 3 days. No upstairs or downstairs neighbor is going to bother me with their music EVER AGAIN. And making yourself get used to LESS pampering, is better for you than making yourself get used to MORE pampering. There are limits of course, and I'm a luxury person in my own way, but I always consider what things might bring to my life, and what consequences it will have on my feeling of well-being both short term and long term. And for me, living in a shabbier house I can do more what I wish with (older houses are usually a bit more free in terms of rules set by the landlord) is more worth than living in a big comfy building with tons of neighbors who might be nosy. And the shabby house would have a better outdoor space, since there's no ppl complaining about my beer snail traps and no ppl asking what the fuck I'm doing. Same with bringing in supplies. I don't want to run into a neighbor. Ever really.
Oh, and that patch? LOAD IT UP! Just take one of those big plastic bags potting soil and wood chips come in, load it in there right before you move, and make a new bed with it at your new crib. Simple as that.

Bags are the way to go you can stuff 9 bags into both of those so 18 tubs worth at a time ... ive used lc in bags and dont really like it i use 1 qt jar per bag so its about 3 weeks give or take for a tub doing it that way but its about the same if you use lc and the bag doesnt go bacterial from using so much lc..
I still have about 700 bags haha and i use them for both poo and grain a bag up to the filter packed down and 5 qts spawn makes 3.5" of sub i a 66qt tub

Bags seem like a good idea but I don't have a flowhood. Do you use a sab or flowhood and if you use a sab how does that work out for you?
